So, here's just another reason why I'm a rock star:

I was watching a friend's video blog, which was quiet, so I turned the volume all the way up to 100 to hear it. Then, I accidentally opened Itunes, it started playing a song really freakin' loud, so I pressed the mute button.

THEN, I forgot I had pressed the mute button, got into an IM conversation, and proceeded to make the other person think I was ignoring them because I didn't respond for ten minutes, because in addition to failing at Multitasking, I kept expecting to hear the little dootdoot! noise that Trillian makes when someone messages you...which obviously didn't happen, because I had it muted.

All I can do is laugh at myself.

Somewhat related: I was the lector this morning, and after I read the bible verses, you know how the lector says "this is the word of God, for the people of God" and the congregation goes "thanks be to God"? Well, after reading the verses perfectly and feeling so relieved because of it, I almost forgot to say that part. I turned around, then whipped back towards the microphone, and went "OH! And, this is the word of God, for the people of God"...

Pastor Terry whispered, as I sat back down, "You almost got fired, there."

I whispered back, "I don't want to talk about it", but I don't think he heard me.

Sometimes, I think the only thing I'm ever going to be able to do perfectly is mess everything up.

Oh well. It's not that big of a deal, I guess, and lots of people told me I did a nice job, and that my voice was pleasant to listen to, and that I read very clearly.

And really, the only important thing is I did not break both legs and consequently, I'm still walking, AMBER.

(I refer you to her send-off of "may you break both your legs and never walk again.")

i don't want to talk about it
