As promised...

Some photos of the current knitting project and of what I've been up to today instead of working on it. ;)

These earrings belong to Reed's mother, who never wears them because she had nothing to match them with...

So I borrowed them, and took them to my local yarn store, a very tasty place called Article Pract (which I try to avoid visiting too often, so=ince I am the quintessential poor student at the moment...) I found this:

100% silk, single ply, hand-dyed (and hand-spun, I suspect). Bliss to work with, too. I'm making her a belt, which was supposed to be ready in time for Christmas, but minor things like finals interfered with the actual yarn-shopping. This is the belt-in-progress:

Notice the lovely bamboo needles, too. I bought them for another project (not started yet, heh...), and they turned out to be the perfect size for this. I'm gradually phasing out my metal and plastic needles, these are so much lighter and nicer to hold...

Anyway, this is the bread that we had with dinner, fresh out of the oven. :)
