excipient = stuff added usu to facilitate manufacturing, marketing

flintstone vitamins: color, sugar, shape holding binders-->make it like candy, but vitamins are not highly absorbable, cheapest forms

plenty of unscrupulous manufacturers in the biz
big pharma makes supps too
