74 weeks?!?

That is how long it has been since I last updated my journal. Yikes! Time flies when you're having...time? I dunno.

What have I done in the last 74 weeks? I celebrated my 30th birthday *with a little help from my friends*, there was a Christmas in that time, organized Sarah's 4th birthday along a cow-girl theme complete with pony rides and bbq, undertook two fundraisers for Sarah's school (I luv Costco!), and wrote a whole lot.

I started writing stories in the last 74 weeks. I had written before...poems, sketch comedy, grocery lists, manifestos, essays, research papers, and even a few pages of a screen play, but never stories. So that was something.

My cosmic thank yous are owed to Anne and Aaron for helping me out with that particular creative hurdle. I owe a lot to my late, great Cousin Alice too. She gave me amazing feedback. Even in her last weeks her thoughts and energies were focused on others, and the world is a little darker now that she is gone.

I guess I lost Alice in the last 74 weeks, and my Uncle Dave. He was in his last 90's and I think he died pretty happy, having eaten Christmas Eve dinner, watched a football game and then fell asleep surrounded by family and friends. I guess Dave taught me a lot too about death. How amazing it is to have lived a long life and lived it well.

What will I be doing in the next 74 weeks?
