Last night had been a kick and a half after the long drive from Boston to stickville, Missouri. I watched my watcher, as she was called, Margaret, fall asleep disgustingly early from outside of her window, after she had done some reading.
When she was out, I went out and played. It's not like I was goin' to sit around a hotel room when there was a whole wild world out there and I had all of these new superopwers. They way that I figured it, I was a vampire slayer, it was night, and that's when the vampires went out and did their little nasty things. Why not be there to catch them in the act and maybe get a few stakin's in by myself?
I had learned quickly how to kill them, and didn't want Margaret holdin' my hand when I did my duty. Margaret was great, don't get me wrong, but she was old and it was liberatin' that I could go out and do things by myself. I had always worked better alone.
And it turned out to be a great night. I staked a vamp, and beat the crap out of another one and watchin' him limp away was wicked cool. I let him get away so that he could deliver a message to the vampire that was the head cheese or whatever around these parts, and was the reason that Margaret had taken me from Boston to here.
Apparently, this vamp was really bad, and had caught Margaret's eye, or the eyes of the people that Margaret worked for at the Watcher's Council in stuffy ol' England, or whatever, she had said. I told the vamp to tell this Master vamp that the party was over, and that I'd be seein' him really soon.
I couldn't wait, but the fightin' had made me really hungry and horny like it did the last time, and I went back to the convenience store not too far from the motel and got me some free food. It wasn't all that I got, either. I got myself some hot action...some nice use em' and discard them, except that this guy knew how to use his tool, and might see me again, really soon.
I was awake, now, because bright and early, Margaret knocked on my door and just kept knockin'. I wanted to tell her that it was way too early to be gettin' up, and said so, but Margaret told me that we had a lot of preparations to make, because this vampire, Kakistos, was some kind of badass or somethin'. He was about to find out what a badass was when I got my hands on him.
She had things to go over with me; things about this vamp Kakistos, and other things that were part of my job. I told her that vamps came out at night, which meant that we should sleep in more, and she promised me a nap later. Great. Like I cared about the lecture. I just wanted to kill the vamps.
I twiddled my thumbs, my covers wrapped around me, as she went on and on with her wild accent.
