Dream On - Aerosmith
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until the dream come true
“There’s four different trial invitations here, Angelina. The only other student to get four right out of school was Charlie Weasley.”
Angelina was just just bouncing on her toes with excitement. After the most horrendous year ever, after Umbridge, after Fred and George dropping out, things were finally looking up. The Toad was gone, and she had four professional invitations for trial for professional quidditch teams. She finally sat down unto the seat in front of Madame Hooch’s battered desk, practically vibrating in place. “Who’re they from?”
“Puddlemere would like you and Adrian Pucey to try out.” Angelina beamed, while Pucey was someone she hated, being on a team with Oliver again would be wonderful. “The Tornadoes, The Magpies, and The harpies.” She finished up, looking confused when she saw Angelina’s face fall in concentration.
The Harpies? No. While Gwenog Jones was pretty much Angelina’s idol and it made her stomach drop with excitement that Gwenog Jones wanted her, Angelina had no desire to play on the Harpies. “Can you put the Harpies invite to the bottom?” She asked suddenly.
“Angelina, I’m not so sure that’s wise.”
“Of course it’s wise.” Angelina replied in a no nonsense tone that teenagers used to prove that they knew best. “I want to be the greatest chaser that ever lived. I want my name known in every country. That’s the dream.” She started to explain idealistically. “The second I join the Harpies, I’m just another girl chaser on an all girls team.” Angelina stood, and Madame Hooch did look a bit disappointed at Angelina’s viewpoint, which Angelina then took for the apprehensive look a teacher had when a student set goals way too high. “Don’t worry about me, Madame Hooch.” Angelina continued. “My name’s going to be up there with Maddock and Levski and Hawksworth just you wait.” She said smiling brightly. “I have to go tell Alicia and Katie!” She finished with a squeal jogging out of the flight instructor’s office.
It only took a week to change her mind.
She, Katie, and Alicia were piled around the Wireless listening to the commentary of the Harpies and Catapults match. It would tell who exactly would be playing for the cup in the championship, and as such it was a very big deal. Angelina was getting irritated listening to the commentary, and it hadn’t really been something she’d noticed before.
“And Jorkins gets yet another one past the flustered keeper Amanda, bringing the score 120 to 100. She must not be feeling so well...”
“Oh! There it is Mary got a lucky shot past Lenox!”
And so it went, the girls got lucky shots or only scored because someone on the other team made a “mistake”, while the Harpies were just flustered, acting too large for their britches whenever something got past them. It was said in a tone that the commentators were not surprised when it happened. The Harpies fought their way to an impressive win though.
“Well that’s certainly an *interesting* outcome.”
Angelina discovered that her fists were balled up so tightly in frustration that she could feel the nails deep in her palms. “I’ll be right back you lot.” She told her two friends before taking off down the stairs and out the portrait hole at a break neck speed. She heard some prefect yell and take points from Gryffinfor for running in the halls, but Angelina didn’t care.
Arriving at Madame Hooch’s office a few minutes later breathing hard all she said was, “Put the Harpies to the top of the list.”
“What on earth changed your mind?” The instructor said as she flipped her own wireless off with a bit of a knowing smile at the new found fire in Angelina Johnson’s eyes.
“They’re the best players in the league, and everyone’s too bloody stupid to know it!” She said fiercely. “And I’m going to make damn sure they do.”
