Offer: In five to ten short lessons, I will teach you the basics of reading ancient Mayan glyphs. Topics will include, but are not limited to:
-Basic verbs
-The Calendar Round and 2012
-Emblem glyphs
-Common titles
-Identifying rulers
-An introduction to iconography
Material will be drawn primarily from Yaxchilan and Tikal, though other sites are certainly negotiable. Perhaps you're travelling to Central America? Maybe you want to know what all the end of the world fuss is about? Maybe you just love languages. Whatever it is, Mayan is a fascinating language.

Delivery: Buyer has the choice of receiving lessons by email or on LJ, with advanced help on GChat or AIM. Alternately, face-to-face lessons are available only for the Nashville metro area. First lesson can be redeemed one week after close of bidding for internet lessons or after August 25 for Nashville lessons. Tutoring will be unavailable from August 9 to August 25.
