Offered: Necklace titled "Growing a Witch on Chalk"
Small glass beads, tube beads of unknown stone, nine silver and pewter charms, sterling silver clasp stamped with tiny flowers.
This necklace commemorates the events and symbols of The Wee Free Men, by Terry Pratchett. The bulk of the necklace is composed of gray and white stone, representing the chalk of the downs, interspersed with grass-green glass beads and wee small blue beads. (Please note that although the stone beads have chosen to photograph as white, the gray inclusions are quite noticeable and handsome in person.)
The nine charms are as follows: frying pan (silver); dictionary (silver); Special Sheep Liniment (pewter); fairy (pewter) -- I worked hard to find an ominous-looking fairy and had to settle for an old-fashioned one; witches' hat (centerpiece, in silver); whale (small, pewter); lighthouse (pewter); sheep (silver); cheese (silver).
The necklace is 23 inches long and strung on silk. The charms are knotted onto it. I chose the clasp because the tiny flowers stamped on it reminded me of little tiny wildflowers, such as Pratchett described growing on the Chalk.
