British Care Package

Jul 14, 2008 09:58

Right, this is really late but I only just found this community and I'd love to help out! I've seen quite a few care packages, which are a fantastic idea, but none exactly like I have in mind...

Offered: I will send to you, whomever you may be, a care package of British things. I'm thinking; Marmite, traditional British sweets (coconut ice, raspberry cremes, Pontefract cakes), tea, magazines...
Basically, tell me what you'd like and I'll do my best to procure it for you!
I'll also include a little letter talking about what's in the news lately, politics, what people are wearing, slang that's gaining popularity, programs on the telly...
I can also slip in some London souvenirs :)
If there are any expats out there feeling a bit homesick, or any anglophiles who want to feed their obsession, this is for you! Email me for special requests.
Contact: better.in.technicolour@googlemail.com
Minimum bid: $5
Delivery: Delivery will depend on how far away you live *gulp*, but I will be sending the package at the start of September at the latest.

Addendum: As well as edible goodies, I'll be putting in some kitschy stuff like beermats and postcards/photos/information about my local area (the gorgeous rural Worcestershire!). I'll also try to take some photos of typically British things like red phone boxes, queues, double decker buses, RAIN and the like. I may also be able to get a Harrods bag. A SMALL Harrods bag, mind you. I am quite poor!
I don't know if this will encourage you or put you off, but there you go! :)

Also: (I just keep thinking of things I can put in!) You can have a couple of hand written family recipes for traditional Welsh food, like Welsh cakes and Bara Brith.
(You don't have to have all this stuff, they're options. We will talk, the winner and I, about what you actually want. )

offered: care package
