Offered: homemade jam

Jul 04, 2008 09:46

Offer: I live in Northern California, the home of all things fruity; every year I make jams and marmalades from whatever's ripest. Find out why you wish you lived in Northern California! I am offering the two highest bidders:

offered: food, offered: jam, seller: jonquil

Betan dollars, anyone? Floating against the Barrayaran mark..

My lady shall we split this prize? Or are we fighting over lime? :)

$62.

[Maybe the OP would care to offer two sets at some price around here?]

The OP will check to see how much is left at home -- the lime marmalade is her husband's favorite.

Going on a last tour of the offered list, I clicked on jam... and it's the lime that bowled me over. (With blood orange on the side, though the raspberry sounds great too.)

$65, for the cause?

OK, now I'm confused -

- I checked back at midnight to make sure I hadn't been outbid, and had previously noted the 'two sets it is' comment - which made me happy - but am I now reading correctly that a late (right?) bid for $65 was accepted? [I assume so, reading the 'top two bidders have been contacted' but not having had such contact.]

Oy veh. 'twould be sad, as I already converted the quatloos over.

AGH. I am going to go recheck and see who won pre-midnight.

Okay, I see the problem. I saw the two top bidders as aswego (who was in time) and linaelyn in the same thread, not realizing that linaelyn was merely matching your bid. I've transferred the half-jar offer to her, and you get the whole thing.

Argh-squared. I must have had my time zones confused. Not unlikely given that yesterday was my birthday :).

I do now feel guilty toward linaelyn, though - and I recall that you mentioned you might make more this season; if it would help (and get more money raised!) I'd be willing to wait for your next adventure into lime marmalade, if it looked like being reasonably soon.. payment now, of course, but that would allow a full set also for linaelyn.

Sorry to cause hassle. Let me know what you'd like to happen and 'twill be done.

I really appreciate the offer, but I probably won't be making lime again until winter -- the Kaffir lime, the key component, is out of season.
