Tagging tips!

1) We've gone through and cleared out a bunch of unused tags, so you should be able to add new tags now. I'm going to be combining some tags that are similar also, to help free up tag space.

2) If you're posting an anime or a manga fandom, I'm going to be combining the separate "anime: [title]" and "manga: [title]" into "anime or manga: [title]". Just be clear in your post if you are offering the anime version only or the manga version only. If it turns out to be a problem, we'll figure something out.

3) I've added a few "[media]: other" tags. Consider using them if you're offering a fandom without a tag yet. If they're not showing up on the tag list because nobody's used them yet, just type them in.

anime or manga: other
book: other
fandom: other
game: other
movie: other
rpf: other
rps: other
tv: other

4) I may be removing tags from sold items if they are the only post with that tag, just to keep tag space free. This is less than optimal, as people might like to search sold items, but it may be the best way to manage the tags. Comments on this welcome!

5) I may also be combining series (like "game: kingdom hearts i" and "game: kingdom hearts ii") into one tag (game: kingdom hearts series). Again, make it clear in your post which version you're offering.

ETA: 6) If you're offering a fandom whose title starts with an article ("a", "an" "the"), check to see if the non-article version is already a tag. Also, if the fandom can be known by several names ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" vs. "Sarah Connor Chronicles"), check for all versions before making a new tag. I'll be fixing existing duplicates, but the tag I pick will be the tag with the most number of posts, to minimize typing.

If you have any ideas on the subject, post them here. Thanks!
