Things I Have Learned My Freshman Year of College (and am now sharing with you):
1)It is relatively easy to keep the friends you have. Your cell phone bill will be completely outrageous, however.
2)Don't be afraid to make new friends. It's not betrayal to your old friends to have new ones. It's good for you.
3)You feel lonely for a good month when school begins. Don't worry, it goes away.
4)All relationships, no matter how good, have rough spots. What matters is how you work through the hard part.
5)You will miss high school. A lot. And you'll wish you hadn't hated it like you did, so appreciate it now.
6)Boardman is a sheltered place. Drugs happen, sex happens, and the people who do these things will most likely end up being your new friends. Don't judge them, they're nice too.
7)It is awkward to come home from college. Just do your best to fit all the pieces back together when you do come back. It does get easy.
8)College isn't a scary place. It's different and weird, and it takes some adjusting, but it's nothing you can't handle.
So you're all talking about how fast time is going by, and it doesn't slow down from here. Enjoy everything and don't sweat senioritis. It doesn't bite you in the ass as badly as you think it does.
Oh, and take pictures. Lots of them.
