What do you call reasonably priced? I got a good deal on the Kensington Close Hotel a couple of years ago for £80 per night for a double room and it was a nice hotel (although the room was quite small). I've also stayed in the Berjaya Eden Park Hotel in Bayswater which was fine, again the room was small, but we got a good deal of £60 per room through one of those cheap hotel booking sites.
I recently stayed in the City Road Travelodge - wasn't great, but clean and reasonably comfortable, but I found it really noisy. Not sure how much that was as work paid. The other hotels I have stayed in in London have been Premier Travel Inns, I like these much better than Travelodges as the rooms are nicer, but you'd probably be lucky to get a room for less than £90 a night in central London.
Looks interesting but I can't see they actually do one to Cornwall. Stonehenge & Bath looks like the closest. Still, thanks for the suggestion and I'll pass the details on to my friend.
It depends what you consider central London. If you are looking for somewhere bang in the city centre than you'll be lucky to find anything for less than £100 a night, and they won't be great hotels at that price. If you don't mind a 30-40 minute tube ride to get into the city, then try Travelodge. I've stayed in the one at the City Airport and the one in Docklands before now, and they are clean, next to the DLR and they often have deals on.
