i had today, the most hilarious final i have ever taken. the professor left because she had the kids for the night and it was run entirely by TAs. throughout the exam about four cell phones went off the the head TA stopped the exam so that everyone could turn their phones off. the rustling of bags and papers and melodies of cell phones as they were turned off was quite disruptive...about five minutes later the building makes this strange sound and the power goes out. one of the TAs walks up the aisle and calls the professor: "nancy..we have a bit of a problem..." and walks out the door. people are shuffling and whispering and excitedly talking about what is happening. the other TAs are screaming at everyone "This is still an exam! be quiet!" but really...the lights went out. the boy next to me starts yelling at one of the TAs, "are the lights going to come back on? you better find out! are we going to get more time for this exam!?" the TA on the phone with the professor comes back in "okay, nancy says everyone take out your cell phones and use them as light." laughs come from the entire 300 students and almost everyone takes out their cell phones. Another TA comes in and says apparently there was a big power outage and 5 buildings lost all power. the light was not going to come back on so we could either finish inside or work outside in the quad. however, it was already about 8:00 so the light outside wasn't much better. I was able to finish with the generator lights although it wasnt much more light than a candle or two. my TA came up to me and asked me if i wanted to use her cell phone as light, i had enough light and couldnt concentrate because really i wanted to use my cell phone to call everyone i knew and tell them what happened.

last final of this semester. what a way to end my junior year.
