Didn't sleep so well this week... Wednesday night my asshole neighbors were launching fireworks and causing small fires. D-bags!
For most of the week the parking lots and grassy spaces surrounding my apartment building had been caked in garbage. I worried about rats. At 5:45 Thursday morning a snowplow scooped up all the filth and dumped it in some nifty green metal dumpsters. Two couches were dumped. I nearly had a heart attack at the noise.
But then I looked out my window and saw all the clean space, and it was nice.
Fifteen minutes later, the word had spread to people with large white or green vans that it was time to dumpster dive. You gotta do what you gotta do... But do you need to be screaming in Spanish at 6 a.m.?
Oh well. I'm pretty sure those dumpsters outside my window interfered with the wireless cells I steal from... Not that I really have any right to complain, but wah wah wah, I like free Net.
Friday morning Kimberly and I hit up Downtown Books, and had a few dramatic readings in the Harlequin romance novel section. Apache Caress, Viking Mistress, and Naughty Thoughts were among our favorites.
I caved. I bought An Ordinary Man by Paul Rusesabagina, The Rainbow People of God by Desmond Tutu, and The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan.
Because of the sick amount of free time I've had since school ended, my for-fun reading average is now at a book a week in 2007. Just imagine what it's going to look like when I start at the pool...
To Alterra at the Lake, it was a gorgeous day. Talked about our favorite vegetarian dishes.
Stayed at Alterra for coffee with Susan, Ginny and Greta. Ginny is who I want to be when I grow up, essentially. I am thinking that after graduation I'll stay in Milwaukee and do NGO work-Ginny told me that majoring in Journalism is relevant to NGO work, because grant-writing and communication skills are necessary.
Susan introduced me to Trader Joe's... I may never be the same again.
Yesterday at 1 Amy, The Trans, Jackie and I went to Beans and Barley to say goodbye to Sarah. Um, I'm sort of in denial.
We had to wait and hour to be seated and then our server had a major attitude. The food was crazy good, and convinced more people that chocolate Silk soy milk is divine... But yo, that waitress kept rolling her eyes at us.
We were out till almost 4. Read Memories of my Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez cover to cover, then went to Susan's to watched Eddie Izzard and The Entourage.
Tonight is Katie's sexy pirate-themed 21st birthday party. Only one question remains: Arrrhh you gonna buy me a drink? Buh-dum-ch!
