i like my body when it is with your... pants

May 13, 2010 09:11

For the last three months I have been searching for new pants. I go to department stores and thrift stores to follow the same routine-pick out a handful of styles (all stretchy) in two sizes, try it all on, and walk out miserable.

The smaller size won’t close around my hips. One size up is too baggy EVERYWHERE.

BOO. While I get frustrated when I can’t find pants, I know the problem is not with me. I like my body. It’s strong. Rarely sick, it gets me lots of places. I feed it fruits and veggies every day, but when it craves cheesecake, I do not deny it.

What I am saying is, I find fault with the fashion industry. Look, I know I’m not the only woman on earth with short legs and a huge ass, SO WHERE ARE OUR PANTS???

I digress. I went to the east side last night to pick up two bags of used clothes (Freecycle) with some reservation. I just know I have a hard body to clothe. (That sounds so dirty!)

So what are the odds that out of those two bags of clothes, one item was a pair of corduroys… that fit me?

WIN.

Ultimately, I ended up keeping less than half of the stuff-I’m just not into flannel nightgowns with Eeyore appliqués. So enjoy that, Goodwill!

I got new pantsssss!

neighborhoods, freecycle, beautiful body tip
