Celebrating

More urban exploring. Tenney Park looks like a dream Doctor Suess once had. I got brown boots and moccasin-y flats at the Time Bank store, in exchange for 30 minutes of volunteer time. You know what I'm going to say about the farmers market, so I'll keep it to myself this time.

I'd been smoke-free two weeks, but I picked up one of those Cigarillo thingies today. (If you could buy loosies here, I'd do that instead! But I think that's a seedy NJ deli specialty.) I know I looked insane in that Walgreens, surrounded by bright-eyed UW-Maddy students with their Diet Coke fridge packs.

But when I got to the second floor balcony of The Mansion, kicked my feet over the brick ledge and got light-headed with peach-flavored smoke, I couldn't care less what one Walgreens clerk thought of me. It's Taste of Madison weekend, so I watched tourists wandering below with maps. The sun was hot, but it couldn't have been more than 75 degrees (that 24 Celsius, Peej).

It was a fucking glorious summer day, and I was celebrating.

farmers market, tenney park, summer, metro, bus pass, balconies, mansion hill, neighborhoods, the mansion, madison, time bank, allied drive
