Summertiiiiiime... and the living's easy.

I the last 48 hours I have:

- Had an out-of-the-office work day to accomplish a craptastic stack of reading. Got it all done in two cafes and the public library-oh yeah, I took some breaks to get my library card and find the local post office and a branch of my bank.
- Finished my first week of work-and treated myself to a scoop of icecream to celebrate.
- Brought a book to James Madison Park and read under a tree.
- Visited the farmers’ market in Capitol Square (vendors literally surround the Capitol Building!) with Sarah and Nick. Made some delicious purchases.
- Cooked a mouth-watering omelet with said purchases.
- Returned to the Public Lib and picked up three works by woman authors.
- Crawled into the hammock on the porch with a book while two of my housemates jammed on acoustic guitars. Ended up taking a nap while they played and I rocked in the breeze.

Co-Op house party tonight. Mama already has the winez. I. LOVE. SUMMER.

Also: I feel like my life is a very long PSA about not having assumptions-any assumptions. I am convinced, after one week here, that I am the most radical person in this co-op. I a) am not an Anglophile (or Europhile) and I don’t think Africa is a dark, backwards continent and I b) have read and enjoyed a lady author. Forreal. I’m meeting a lot of men and women in this town who have never branched out of the DavidFosterWallace-HunterSThompson-DouglasAdams-ThomasPynchon realm, and do not see a need to. I SEE THE NEED, FOLKS.

But yeah, who would have guessed that a CO-OP house in MADISON would be a little too small-minded for me? FML. (Just kidding. Summer in the city FTW.)
