On Sunday,
goodbush went to see
Milk. It was incredible and moving and just so good. It was, as
goodbush said later, the most believable movie I had seen all year. That acting was superb and not once did I ever doubt that these people were the real characters portrayed in the story. If you haven't seen it yet, I expect you to get out there and do it!
The most awful part, though, was that prior to the movie starting, they had a big "Join the Marines" ad. Now, I think if you're going to have a military ad, the Marines ads are the way to go - handsome, honorable men and women standing and looking brave. I certainly like them better than the awful, hypocritical Army music video ads. Yes, that's right. Let's make murder and torture look sexy.
But I digress. The point is that I can't believe the audacity (or is it complete ignorance and stupidity?) of the theater establishment to place an ad for an institution that rejects gay members at the beginning of a movie celebrating the life and recognizing the tragic death of our first openly gay elected official.
