As promised, I can finally share my good news!!
I finally got a job! Well, sort of a job. It's an AmeriCorps VISTA job, which means that it doesn't even pay minimum wage, but I don't mind. And I have health insurance. But the best part is that I'm working for Planned Parenthood! Yeah, of course I'll work for dirt cheap for Planned Parenthood. So I'm the new Teen Clinic Coordinator. What that means is that I get to train and supervise the volunteers who run the free Teen Clinics in about half of the clinics in Western Washington.
Which also means that, much to my chagrin, I need a car. So I got one today - a 1989 Buick Skylark. Yes, you guessed it, it is indeed old-lady-blue. I figure I'll call it Baba Yaga and drive it everywhere. This very talkative, wonderful elderly woman has been the only owner of it ever and it only has 84,000 miles on it. Which, for an '89, is pretty dang good.
So I have a job and a car, a love and an apartment. Life is going pretty well. Now if I only made a decent amount of money ...
