Bright red lights stretch across the jet black, soaking pavement. Spinning hub caps come to a stop on top of a painted white line, contrasting with the black of the tires and the black of the sky. The beat of the windsheild wipers and Full Collapse is all I hear. A body with an empty, hungry soul sits behind the wheel. waiting for something to happen. Sitting all alone in a desolate intersection, the light will never turn green. The rains steady downfall seems to go right along with the idling engine. The indide of the car is too warm. I turn off the heat, feeling an emptiness. Missing the hum and comforting heat. Four tires roll over the white line and over the red ribbons of light that still lie on the glistening asphalt. Orange hands climb over green glowing numbers as the car accelerates. Thick yellow white lights pave the road in front of me as i make my way down the cold streets. Clicking green arrow. Turn the wheel left. The cd that was playing is over and its quiet in the car as i pull into the driveway. Startling silence as i kill the engine, forces me out of the warm drivers seat into the bitter cold and rain. I walk into a dark, empty house wishing it was alive and inviting. Dancing with activity as I am greeted at the door by loving arms. But as I open my eyes all i feel is nothing and all i see is empty space and nice corners where it would seem certain that there would be spider webs. Sad and hollow i climb the stairs and fall into my bed. The femilliar smell of home is there, but i cant feel it. I lay there, my face cold and dripping, and i stare at the clock near my bed. Its green glowing numbers keep my company in this thunderstorm. With a crack and and a shudder the power goes out and i am alone again. Crying to the darkness no one is here. No one knows how I feel. Hope is gone with the power, gone with the tears, gone with the rain. I close my eyes and wish I was somewhere happy. A few minutes later, i open my eyes to catch the clock right as the power turns back on. Blinking 12:00, throwing green light across the room as i smile.
