Who's Mark Levine? After my Jazz Piano Grade 5 Exam, the examiner asked me what I was planning to do next (Grade 5's the highest grade so far). Is that a hint that I've passed and done well?
So he takes out this rough paper, rips of a square of it and writes Jazz Piano - Mark Levine on it; "Check out this book!" It'd be pretty funny if Mark Levine turned out to be his friend, brother, or worse, him!
Now I must hardcore my Grade 8 Classical pieces again, and practice these 2 new Japanese pieces. I is be need 5 pieces for Yamaha Grade 5. In Japan, the music examination system counts down from 9. Grade 9 is like Grade 1 and so on. Grade 6 is like Grade 8. Grade 5 is something like an Associate diploma. Grade 4's a Licentiate, and Grade 3's is I dunno the name. It seems the highest Grade that someone possess for Yamaha Grading in Singapore is a 3. It's pretty crazy; apparently you need to submit and perform your own composition. Grade 2 and Grade 1, I've heard you need to book out a concert hall in Japan or something o.0
Must abandon drumming till the 20-something of November. All for the sake of passing and getting that stupid paper that will grant you a job interview!
