IC Information:
Name: Deshwitat L.(Lived) Rudbich
Fandom: Rebirth
Timeline: After Volume 13
Age: 385 years old, (cast/sealed 357 years). Appears to be 28.
Appearance: At 6'4 ft and 211 pounds, Deshwitat is built in rogue appearance with a lean body but well built muscle mass covering his thighs, arms and torso. He has red eyes and long dark greyish blue hair(I cannot stress enough how much they warp the color at times). His ears are pointed and his mouth holds pairs of canines suitable for a vampire of his quality. Usually dressed in long clothes they are built specifically to hide him in the dark. This may or may not include a cape depending on whether or not he is wearing his period clothes or his modern ones.

Abilities: First and foremost, Deshwitat is backed by his vampire abilties which includes enhanced speed and strength. He can regenerate his body when dealt a wound almost instantly, but with every bit of blood loss he grows weaker. This includes decapitated limbs, as the limbs rejoin together within a minute. By drinking blood, not only does he sustain his own life, but he enhances his power as well. Crosses hardly harm him, if at all. Those that don't believe in them cannot get them to harm him. Silver bullets can weaken him if he's unable to regenerate his body or does not get rest. The bullet needs to be blessed by a high powered priest. Regular bullets, silver or not simply bounce off him.

Deshwitat is a very powerful dark magician. He is able to use dark energy blasts in an instant. Other more difficult spells include the following(I've listed them from least harmful to fatal):

Dark Barrier: A dark barrier that can repell physical to magical attacks for a short period of time. The stronger he is, the stronger the barrier. Requires no summoning. Link- Example

Bloody Balkan: A scatter shot attack capable of taking out multiple enemies at once. Requires no summoning. Link- Example

Bloody Vulkan: A higher scatter shot with a wider range of attack. It requires a great deal more energy than the Bloody Balkan. Requires no summoning. Link- Example

Demon's Baptism: A high powered dark energy blast that requires a bit of summoning to use. Link-Example

Abbadon's Kiss: By far, Deshwitat's highest powered attack. It summons souls from a black pit where Abbadon, a high powered beast resides. It requires a great deal of summoning and seals to work Link- Example

Personality:
Deshwitat is a vampire that carries himself with a great deal of confidence. While powerful in his own right, he does not use that power to overpower others unless he is fighting or is trying to prove a point. As a Europeon visage, most of his attitude is backed by his pride. He won't accept help unless he has to, wanting to do things on his own. Quite to the point and easily tempered, that pride also ensures that once a fight has started, he won't back down until his opponent is either beaten or retreats, even if it is not a good situation or endangers his own life. With his pride and confidence ruined by Kalutika, his desire for revenge is what keeps him going forward as at times he requres a little kick to boost his will to go on.

He's considered more of an anti-hero than an actual hero. This whole saving the world deal is thrust upon him, and he doesn't like it. Once in a foul mood, Deshwitat will and can refuse to do anything he doesn't want to. Being a solitary creature, he'll brood in the shadows and keep to himself. To others and most humans he is seen as a monster, as he can be very cruel and hateful to people he doesn't like. Despite that, the vampire is capable of great acts of compassion and kindess such as saving lives and helping others. When in a good mood, he can be rather kind and playful, even interacting with others mildly, but not greatly.

History:
Deshwitat was born to a powerful and handsome vampire lord named Carlos and a beautiful human woman named Elysee. Together they raised Deshwitat without telling him the truth of being a vampire in a castle above a village.

In the year 1624, during a time of famine and desperation, a noble of the village by the name of Lord Maybus sought to boost his reputation. He needed a scapegoat, so thus he wanted the Rudbich family killed. They stormed the castle even though Carlos had not harmed a single village despite the lies that spread and fueled to create such rage against the Rudbich family. Even when attacked, Carlos assumed he had to kill only Maybus to prevent further bloodshed. Kalutika cried out for his father and Carlos spared his life. Unfortunately, Maybus' men captured Elysee and Deshwitat, and held them hostage. In exchange for his life, they would be set free.

Tied to a stake on a cliffside with the sun quickly rising, Carlos begged for his family to be let go as promised. Maybus went back on his word, saying she was a witch and his son a hell spawn. Refusing to run, Elysee was beheaded. Seeking to boost his son's reputation as well, he made Kalutika hold Deshwitat so the sun would burn him to death. Carlos sensed that Kalutika was still a kind soul and did not want any of this to happen. He begged for Deshwitat to be spared, saying that if he pushed him off the cliff he would survive the fall. When the sun rose, Deshwitat was pushed while his father burned alive.

Kalutika is sent to find Deshwitat and kill him. The vampire child is found in a dark cave and upon seeing Kalutika, he attacks. Only with calm words and announcing it was his dying father's for him to survive does Deshwitat calm down. Returned home, Kalutika claimed that he killed the demon child and informed his sister that he was still alive and needed all the friends he could get. His father overheard and followed them. Deshwitat saw the noble waiting behind a tree and assumed Kalutika had betrayed him like the other humans. He ran off into the forest and was snagged by a trap.

Thinking he was a noble's son, the hunters moved in to set him free but Deshwitat's temper caused him to bite. Seeing the fangs and knowing what he was, they put him in a circus for profit as a vampire freak. Poor Deshwitat was starved nearly to death and wheeled out to the audience chained and bound to a cage. They would feed chickens in from above and his hunger would cause him to tear into them. The humans saw him as a monster and his hatred grew for them.

He wanted to kill them, thinking every human to be the same until a noble girl by the name of Lilith snuck in to see him. She didn't see him as a devil, but as a boy that was just scared and lonely. Giving him a doll, a set of two twins, for a friend, he couldn't bring himself to hate her. That night within his cage, he remembered the spell the dark magicians used to blow holes in concrete and taught himself how to use them as well. Blowing a hole through his cage bars, he escaped.

Five years later, he returned as an adult to exact revenge upon the circus as a powerful and very dark magician. Kalutika, now older as well and having joined the sacred knights, takes up the heir to his household. A very wild man by the name of Rett -- a man that has never been defeated by either man or sword-- is taken into custody. Charged with leading a ruthless bandit crew, Kalutika becomes interested. Apparently he had only hunted down the most despicable of noblemen that had done wrong to the village. His love for his sister turned almost psychotic, killing a man by Rett's hand in a fight on purpose because he touched her. Kalutika hires Rett as one of his own men, having wanted to have a powerful ally at his side. That night he wept and came to terms with the fact that he just killed a man.

Kalutika investigated a recent string of murders on the highways, and found a bloody scene of broken carriages, but without the bodies. The men of the carriages turn up in the form of ghouls with Deshwitat as their leader. Kalutika recognized the vampire from his childhood and tried to console him, not wanting to harm him. Deshwitat has none of it, now claimed that Kalutika was the first human that ever betrayed him. He seeks revenge by trying to take his life. Rett interfered and fought him. With Deshwitat almost defeated by Rett, Kalutika begs him to spare his life as it is his fault he turned out this way.

Deshwitat awoke in the Maybus household, bandaged and no longer wounded. Kalutika tried to feed him a dead rabbit, clothe him and house him, but Deshwitat learned that the very man that murdered his father and mother is within the house as well. He rushed off to find him and only found a sick old man that has lost his mind. He took pity upon his enemy, and now that his time was wasted and his revenge ruined, Deshwitat fled the household.

A month later, Kalutika is charged with escorting a young lady of a very powerful household by the name of Lilith. Rett is given orders to train new recruits and Kalutika ventured off on his own. Deshwitat over the course of the month had watched him as he was treated differently than other human had treated him before. But he's not the only one, as religious practices had watched him as well. A group of extremely powerful and abnormal non mortals attacked Kalutika and kidnaped Lilith. While a group is left behind to finish him off, he resigned to death. Deshwitat leapt in to save him, and claimed that he only did it to repay a debt for having saved him as a child.

Kalutika begs Deshwitat to save her because he knows there is good in him much like his father. Deshwitat smacked him away, denying that fact there is good within him. He had one more debt to settle with him and chased the runaway caravan anyways. Deshwitat nearly exhausted himself in the fight. He managed to defeat the bandits. The horses in a panic take the two and the caravan over the side of a waterfall. Deshwitat uses the last his resources to save them before they crash into the water below and become pulverized. For the first time in his life, he's experienced the joy of saving a life, instead of the thrill of taking one.

One of the bandits managed to survive and retreated wounded for backup while Deshwitat took Lilith to a nearby cave to hide during the daylight. Seeing he other doll that was a twin to his own he made the connection that she is in fact the girl that showed him kindness while in the circus. After some playful banter between the two, Deshwitat accepted the fact he can't harm her nor hate her. They discuss the facts of life. Lilith does not want to marry the noble she's forcibly engaged to. Deshwitat informs her that if she didn't want to do it, then she shouldn't. She should be able to shape her own destiny.

Lilith wandered out of the cave for a drink of water at a nearby stream and screamed when Rett scared her. Deshwitat mistook the scream for the bandits attacking once more and rushed to save her. Unfortunately it is still light outside and he cursed himself internally for letting her wander off and his own hatred for humans having got in the way. The real bandits showed up, and attacked Rett and Kalutika. Rett is outmatched and almost dies. Thankfully, night falls and Deshwitat emerged to save his life. They teamed up to took down the beasts, but the non mortals joined together to form a giant monster. Again the tides turn against their favor and with a massive attack, Rett is separated from Deshwitat.

Kalutika realizes that Deshwitat hasn't eaten in a while and cut himself, making him drink his blood. A burst of energy flows through Deshwitat unnaturally. With a newfound power, Deshwitat destroyed the beast merge. Right before dealing the killing blow, the monster begged for its existence, not its life. Instead of being destroyed, they offer to join Deshwitat as his power so in a way they are not forgotten. Deshwitat refused but Lilith convinced him otherwise. Without harm to his body, they became his power and heeded his call. It is where he essentially learns his Abbadon's Kiss. Deshwitat disappeared again, right after he informed Rett that Kalutika isn't human as such a small amount of blood shouldn't have restored and given him power like that.

Lilith took Deshwitat's words into consideration and decided not to marry the noble she was engaged to. Demanding a birthday party, she invited Kal and Rett, and also wanted Deshwitat to come as well. He arrived in the corner, rather late, and brooded like normal. Lilith is overjoyed and makes him dance with her, much to Deshwitat's embarrassment. He hugged her tight and fled shortly after one dance, having realized that he suddenly wants to become human to join her side of the world. Enraged, he nearly destroys his cabin until Rett and Kal enter. A part of him hates he is the monster he doesn't want to be, but with Kalutika's kind words --telling him he is more human than any man he knows-- he befriends them.

Four years later, Deshwitat and Rett have become a formidable duo, being the backing power behind Kalutika's army. The religious upstarts are rose in power with covenants growing more in numbers. Kalutika then took a brief trip to learn of his past, finding out that he's not quite human and he was adopted. Meanwhile Deshwitat sent word to Lilith that he'll be meeting up with her at her room later that night. The two have been met often over the course of the year. A figure in white visited Kalutika and showed him the future. After Deshwitat is visited as well and sold a pair of rings. As long as they are red, they will know each other is safe and alive. They never have to worry unless the rings turn blue. Kalutika realized that his sister isn't actually his sister and comes to the conclusion that he will marry her.

With the two men now attached to something else other than their friendship, a plan falls into motion. Danube, Kalutika's sister, and Lilith are arrested and sentenced to death for loving a devil and for witchcraft. Deshwitat and Kalutika form a plan to rescue them, and so that neither is influenced by their feelings for each of the women, they make a pact to save each other’s lovers. Deshwitat is allowed entrance to the keep as they tried to hurt Lilith's feelings for him. She witnessed him using magic and baring fangs. Despite her now knowing Deshwitat is a vampire, Lilith did not betray her feelings for him. Because they wanted Kalutika more enraged, one of the guard slipped into Danube's cell and raped her. Out on the gallows the following morning, Kalutika can see her spirit almost broken.

When the initial attack begans, Rett created a distraction while Deshwitat and Kalutika rushed in to save them. The figure in white appeared and ensnared them both in magic. When the hanging is taking too long, they are ordered each of the women to be behead instantly. The figure in white released Deshwitat only. Knowing it was his duty to save Danube, he saved Lilith first instead. Deshwitat turned around to save Danube as well, but is was late. The figure in white released Kalutika just in time to see Danube's head sailing past.

The crowd thinned and dispersed at the sudden attack and the figure in white disappeared. Deshwitat turned around to get Kalutika, just in time for the human to stab him through the heart, stuck in now blind hatred for Deshwitat for not having saved Danube like they had agreed. Deshwitat feeling guilty, willed himself to take that pain if only to sedate his friend’s hatred for him. Unfortunately the guards didn't forget them just yet and Kalutika is pierced through the head with an arrow. Just before he died he cursed Deshwitat for all eternity. Kalutika is pierced with a dozen or so more arrows and Deshwitat is dragged off by Rett.

The figure in white returned and carried off Kalutika's body. He's taken to the religious covenant where his dead body is sacrificed. Deshwitat revealed his feelings for Lilith and they became lovers, consoling each other for their losses.

666 days later, Kalutika is reborn as a vengeful god of light named Verkaoh just as Rett is dispatched to take care of the remaining covenant worshipers. He vowed revenge upon Deshwitat sought him out, and attacked him and Lilith. When Lilith jumped in the way, Kalutika killed her, robbing Deshwitat of his love much like Deshwitat did of him. Deshwitat tried to attack him, but was no match for the reborn god of light. Instead of having him destroyed permanently, he turned him into an ashen stature of his 'dust of death' and sealed him away in a monster where he can rot for all eternally, unable to join Lilith.

Rett arrived too late and seeing his friends murdered, he tried to attack Kalutika as well. Kalutika feeling betrayed attacks him, cursing him to eternal life, where he will be doomed to never die and watch others die around him.

357 years later in the winter of 1988, a group of paranormal scientists -- led by Professor Do, his colleague Professor Redfield, and his daughter Remi Do-- visited a small town deep in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. It was rumored to be a legendary hometown of a Vampire Legend. The local tabloid attracted the group on suspicion of a bunch of brutal murders that may have been caused by a wild animal or a man with massive fangs. Most of the villagers were scared off by the attack. The group was able to investigate on their own. Using a deviced they tracked the paranormal energy and were lured into a trap by a group of level four Laknes. Laknes were underworld, undead, earth dwellers that fed on the human body through their bodily fluids, causing the body to eventually explode. From this, they learned that the Laknes were the reason behind the attacks.

Professor Do and Remi were quickly captured and watched to their horror as their colleagues were killed before their eyes. They were soon to join them were it not for Millenear, a priestess of light and exorcist who finally showed up. She had been delayed due to car trouble. Millenear quickly dispatched a few on her own but found the group to be too numerous. Professor Do informed her that Remi had sensed one of the Laknes earlier and that one had a very high spiritual power. Surely that must be their leader. He believed that if they took out that one, the others would surely back down or at least go into enough panic to flee. Sensing exactly which one that was, Millenear charged one of her holy attacks and killed the leader. Unfortunately, the group of Laknes seemed unaffected and a red power came out of the monster.

This red power was in fact Deshwitat's 'dust of death'. Remi became enraged, refusing to die and started to kick at the beast that held her in its grip. The monster became annoyed, hitting her rather harshly across the cheek, causing her to bleed. A stream of blood dripped onto the red powder, causing it to react and from that powder rose Deshwitat, reborn. Millenear explained that it had to be a vampire because only vampires reacted to blood and were reborn if the blood used belonged to a virgin. Professor Do called out for the vampire to help them, but being as weak as he was from lack of blood for the last 357 years, he staggered to his knees. Millenear doubted such a vampire would do so anyways.

That's when Professor Do noticed that the Laknes had loosened its grip upon his body, having become distracted by the new arrival and his obsession for the ring on his finger, as Deshwitat wondered why it was red. He kicked it hard and escaped, coming to terms that there was only one option to saving his daughter. He rescued the weakened Deshwitat from being pounded into the dirt at the last minute and offered his own life in exchanged for the vampire to save his daughter and Millenear. Deshwitat almost refused were it not for his need for revenge. Accepting the terms, he drank the professor’s blood and saved both Remi and Millenear.

Millenear assumed that Deshwitat was a greater evil than any of the Laknes could be and sought to destroy him with holy magic. She was weakened though, and the attack merely grazed him. Deshwitat became interested instantly telling her not to run away as they had business to discuss after killing the Laknes. When he was finished, he confronted her and demanded that she teach him the power of light, even if for a creature of darkness it would be nearly impossible. With a threat aimed at Remi, Millenear quickly agreed. A distraught Remi then watches Deshwitat destroy her father's corpse, having been explained that he will rise from the dead as Deshwitat's blood continues a curse that will turn any dead body as result from him sucking their blood into ghouls. The dust is put into a pouch and he says that he doesn't care to live long as long as he gets his revenge and that after he is dead, Remi can revive her father using the dust of dead and he won't be a ghoul any longer. Remi demands to go with them in order to kill him herself. They agree.

Having acquired a more modern attire after being told he stoods out too much with such ancient clothing, Millenear decided the best plan is to take them to a temple where he will be able to learn the power of light even if slow. Upon arrival they are attacked by Rett. Deshwitat wonders how he is alive and sees it as a trick. Nearly taking his head off Rett then burst into laughter, saying the attack was simply for old times’ sake. He now was a new partner named Beryun. The woman proceeds with her orders, as Rett assumed the order was a mistake seeing Deshwitat as the target, and with a launched attack at Rett, takes him out and aims to have Deshwitat executed with her monk abilities.

A fight breaks out until the head monk of the temple appears, a woman by the name of Master Tae. Deshwitat, having quite the nasty temper, refused to back down even when explained that the attack was triggered by a scared monk who was afraid that Deshwitat would bring upon the end of the world. To prove that he is still weak, she defeats him using a very strong holy magic and the vampire is knocked unconscious. She does not kill him because she says the monk had it wrong, and he is vital to the survival of the world.

While Deshwitat is asleep and recovering, the crew is explained that Deshwitat seeks revenge upon a man named Kal, who is the true person that will bring upon end of the world. Our hero awakens to find them discuss the very means to teach him the power of light and intrudes upon their conversation. He is angered by the fact that they brought him there for nothing if he cannot be taught the power of light that way. Master Tae says the only way to learn is via the source of holy magic itself. They are shipped off to Italy, more specifically Vatican City in Rome.

Having almost entered Vatican City, Millenear catches Deshwitat feeding upon an innocent woman. She attacked him without hesitation because she wanted no more innocent lives to be harmed. Deshwitat beats her up almost to a pulp, and explained that it not because he wants to as he did not choose this life for himself and it is no different than a tiger hunting a rabbit or deer in the wild. Rett had explained this to her before that darkness does not necessarily mean evil. After this, she began to realize that he may not be so evil after all. Once it is clear that Deshwitat has fallen into a foul mood, the plans for the Vatican are put on hold. Meanwhile the priests of the Vatican have conspired to rid the world of the vampire.

A midnight visitor invites Deshwitat to the Vatican alone and fueled by the need for a hasty revenge, Deshwitat goes without telling anyone. He's led to the heart of the Vatican where the central area of holy magic is originated. Once there, he's informed that it's just a trap. He prepares a dark spell, but it fails as the power of light is so strong and prevents him from using anything dark originated. Unfortunately for the priests, Deshwitat is not only dark magic originated and falls back on his vampire power and speed, shortly executing those that try to attack him. Bishop Benard, the one leading the attack, shoots him with a blessed silver bullet and while it is not deadly, he also cannot regenerate his powers as long as the holy seals are in place.

The crew rushed to save him, entering from the entrance and committing acts of treason by Rett, Deshwitat is pinned down and sealed to the floor. A purification spell begins. He nearly gives up if not for a mysterious light that appears to Deshwitat as Lilith, his beloved. A vision of Kal appeared next and taunted him. Once again, fueled by his need for revenge, he drews not form darkness, but from the power within himself and exited the column of light. He takes a hostage out of a favored sister by the name of Sister Erika and proceeds to exit. He doesn't wish to go out though, but inwards towards the seal underneath the Vatican keeping his powers at bay.

Re-cornered in the room with the main power crystal, the Rebirth crew rejoined Deshwitat and Erika. There they learn that Rett and Beryun are immortal and that Millenear is a rogue exorcist for using demonic powers to save a child. Bishop Benard offers Millenear a chance to redeem herself by killing the wounded Deshwitat. She instead fires a shot at the bishop which surprises Deshwitat, changing his views of her. Erika's companions arrive stating that they know the truth and that they are now on Deshwitat's side. Enraged, Benard begins to transform, calling upon inner forces and allows a level 681 divine beast to possess him. Deshwitat and crew engage Benard while Erika and crew work on disabling the seal. With renewed powers, Deshwitat attacks Benard and makes short work of him. Unfortunately he begins to regenerate and with the help of Erika, Deshwitat teams up with the sister for one massive explosion, taking him out completely.

They hold up in another hotel for the night and when Millenear awakes in the morning, Deshwitat tempts her, holding his hand out towards a stream of light entering through a slit curtain. He states that all she had to do is open it and he would die, as he can die in the light. Millenear, having read a journal recording Deshwitat's past thrust the curtain closed, saying that it is foolish to wish to die.

Back at the temple, Deshwitat realized he doesn't need the power of the light as when he beat Millenear and the Vatican Bishop, he was using the power of dark. He only needed to make it stronger. With renewed confidence, they researched another way to boost his power.

Roleplay Sample - Log: The vampire waited until the area around him became quieted by the night. Only then would he move out of the suite he was in and down the hallways. Hungry and thirsty, the vampire staggered towards the biodome where he heard there would be a more forest like area. Home. It would remind him of home. Boots heavily thumped against the ground, his hand the only thing that supported his weight from crashing sideways onto the ground. Once there, his body slumped against a tree and slid down into a sit.

Fingers covered his face, glad at least at night it was more quiet then it was during the day hours. The light didn't burn, but was incredibly bright. He had hoped that later in the day, if it was even night, that the light would dim. It was never his luck. Kalutika had done this to him and now he was stuck here in this light. It was worse then those three hundred and fifty plus years that he was trapped in darkness with no end or conclusion to his solitude. His hand lowered and he looked down at the ring on his finger. Eyes dimmed, reminded that it was still red, and that she was still alive. But it shouldn't be. She had been killed before his eyes.

So why was it red?! He growled, teeth grit, and he punched the tree behind him. It creaked and toppled, slamming to the ground enough to rattle the area under him uncomfortably. Cursing under his breath, he yelled all the more louder after, a rage splitting scream that awakened the darkness within him. Rage fueled and hungry, he ripped apart whatever he could get his hands onto until his body slumped once more face first into the ground.

Damnit. His legs would no longer move.

Roleplay Sample - Journal: The light. It's so bright... Why is there light here?

[The vampire's fingers stretch towards the sky, shielding himself from the bright light above. Everything was white and his throat felt painfully constricted. He was thirsty, fingers touching the base of his neck as he sits up, finally coming into view.] Where am I?

[A little growl leaves his throat as he grits his teeth, fingers smoothing along the collar set there, trying to rip it off] What is this?! Where hell am I?!

[Leather gloved fingers nearly crush the faciliberry under his fingers, his dark red eyes lowering to it. The edges of the glass crack, almost crushing it as it looks like a monitoring device] Whoever is watching me, I want some answers!
