i usually get up each morning at 3:45am for work, which is at 5am. even 3:45 is sort of pushing it, but at that point in the morning, even 10 extra seconds of sleep can be pretty important. i managed to avoid oversleeping for 6-7 weeks now, until this morning. i roll over and stare at the red lights in the darkness. even though i set both my alarm clock and cell phone, with a 5 minute delay between the two, i still managed to sleep until 4:20. my lucky number(s).

i sat there for a second.. and thought.. is it worth rushing like a madman to get up/dressed, and rush out the door to make it in time? or should i just take my sweet ass time and stroll in? i shouldve done the latter, but chose to rush in.

somehow, someway, i made it out of bed, got ready, and got out my door in 7 minutes. i think one of my eyes was still crusted shut as i got into my car. luckily it was about 60 degrees, so i didnt even have to warm it up. i got there and realized i shouldve slept in and came in late.

my work has these "occurances" that youre alloted over a year, and its pretty much 20 lates/leave early, 10 call-ins, or a combination of the two. basically, if i went in late, i wouldve already gotten the occurance anyway, and couldve left at 7am if i wanted, as you cant get two in the same day. so i rushed in, only to leave early. current events considered, thats pretty much the story of me.

i'd never taken any up to this point, so i did and left at 10:15, came home, and climbed back into bed. that was nice.
