Rain, Lightning, and THUNDER...oooooooooooooo
Oh gosh. We just had a lil storm here and it scared the CRAP out of me (not lITerally...eww gross)! :-O
So I let the dog in and she HATES fireworks and thunder and whatnot, so she's shakin and peein herself....poor thing...she's so old. Oh well. Then I go to call my mom bc she went out grocery shopping and to the bank and I wanna know when she's gonna be home. So I grab my cell and as soon as I get ahold of her, there's this LOUD crack - like it literally sounds like it's on top of our house - and it made me scream and jump and I dropped my phone. Luckily it didn't crash into a million pieces on the tile, but landed on this tall candle that my mom has by our front door. I guess we had a power surge or something, bc at the same time this alarm starts going off somewhere in our house and then it shuts off. haha So I'm not sure why but this all freaked me out and I'm almost in tears trying to explain to my mom what's going on and with the alarm and all that and she's just trying to buy groceries at Albertson's. This guy Bryan (who works at Albertson's and knows EVERybody) overhears about the alarm and asks if I was cooking....haha very funny. I've never set the alarm off when cooking.....that could be bc I really don't cook that much....but I digress..
Lol, anyway I just thought it was really awesome. I've been wanting it to rain for quite a while and it was much cooler to have the thunder and lightening, and it couldn't have come at a better time bc I'd just finished reading Genesis in The Message and was filled with awe at how mighty and powerful God is and the thunder and lightening just seemed to reassure/confirm that. For those who don't know, The Message is the Bible written in contemporary language so it is MUCH easier to read/understand. Yesterday I decided to pick up where I'd left off in Genesis around chapter 12, and I really just couldn't put it down! I read for about 2 hours yesterday and 2 today and finished Genesis...all the way through chapter 50! :-D It made me happy that I could become so enthralled with God's word and got me excited to read more and really think about what I'm reading.
So there's that. lol That reminds me...I just watched Gardenstate again the other day with my lil sis and Zach Braff's character says that a lot...."so there's that." That movie is soo good in my opinion.
Yeah, I know I'm rambling, but this is my LJ, so whatev....I wanted to recommend the movie Beauty Shop, which I watched with my mom last night....SOOOOO funny. Also, Coach Carter is a fabulous movie.
