It's Great to Be a Florida Gator!

It's been a pretty good couple of days. Finally got over my cold. Got my voice back from the 36 hour laryngitis I acquired, and I finally feel 95% again. Hopefully that'll be my sick week for the year. I did go to all my classes though, even feeling like complete crap. Heh, I usually don't even go to all my classes when I feel prefectly fine. How funny.

Went to the podiatrist on Thursday for my follow-up. Dr. Gabbay examined me, and since we have tried everything to fix my foot, we decided on surgery. It's official now. On October 5th at 7am, I will have a screw inserted into my foot to completely fuse my funky joint that is already partially fused. The good thing is that I don't have a lot of arthritis in that joint, which is actually somewhat rare, but it'll make this a little easier. So I'll be on crutches for six weeks, in a walking cast for another two, then back into a tennis shoe. I'm not sure about physical therapy, but I'd imagine there'll be a little of that so I can regain semi-normal motion of my foot. So a little over two months for healing where I'll be gimpy. Shame part of that is when I'll be on vacation in Ohio (crutches in the snow should be an interesting experience). Oh well.

Got to go home this weekend. That was nice. Got me out of the city for a day. Didn't really do anything productive except go to Target. Watched the Florida-Tennessee game on Saturday (Go Gators!!). Nice little 16-7 victory in the Swamp. I can deal with that. The game wasn't pretty except for the first quarter, but we won which is what matters. And if I had known that game was this weekend, I would have driven down for it, 'cause my dad was in Florida for the week. They closed Lucent, so Intel sent employees down there for hiring. But anyway, I've decided I'm going to drive down to Gainesville for a home game, since it will be the last year I can easily do that. Victoria is going to come too, and I think we are going down on November 5th for the Vandy game. Gotta call my uncle and see if I can swing two tickets. Oh fun... that'll be the weekend after I come back from Ohio. Will the excitement never end?! I'm gonna be broke by Christmas I'm thinking... bah.

Well, I should probably get cracking on this homework I have. 'Tis the life of a college student. Cheers!
