The party was so much fun! (As you could probably tell by the pictures.) I lost count of how many people I had over, as the stream didn't seem to end. But it was managable, and a lot of my guests ended up outside playing beer pong. My bar was actually pretty large, considering there was very little contribution from other people. Last week Josh and I had bought a handle of Captain Morgan, a handle of vodka, a fifth of tequila, a bottle of Bailey's, apple schnapps, margarita mix, a six-pack of Newcastle, a six-pack of Guinness, and a 12-pack of some other beer. Cassie brought over sour mix and cherries; Leigh brought half a handle of vodka; someone else brought a bottle of vanilla vodka. And of course people brought a lot of beer. Then other people were wanting Everclear and Kahlua, so Leigh and I went to Albertsons to get that. I also got another bottle of Bailey's since I was almost out. All in all, we spent about $200 in liquor. Craziness. There ended up being probably about two 30-packs of beer, and all that was gone, but there are still so many bottles in my fridge. The remainder of my handle of tequila is gone, but the fifth was never opened. Leigh's vodka was finished off, but there is still half of the other handle. The Captain wasn't touched. The Everclear was just used for cherries, so there is a lot of that left. Both bottles of Bailey's are still around along with the Kahlua. The pucker and sour mix got finished, but I think the margarita mix is still there. And my Newcastle and Guinness are untouched as well. The only bad thing is that I need to get rid of most of that before my parents come back on Sunday. So I'm thinking about stashing it at Leigh's until further notice. (So Leigh, if you're reading this, be ready!)
So the party turned out well, all in all. I had a few people get sick, but they turned out okay. I took everyone's keys at the get-go, and had about 10 people crash in my living room. Perfectly fine with me. I'd rather have them there than out driving. Everyone left at a decent hour, and a couple of us went out to breakfast on Saturday morning. Then I came back and cleaned my house for most of the afternoon. Then when Leigh woke up :) we went up to Scottsdale to do some shopping. We are going to see "The Phantom of the Opera" on Thursday, so I needed to buy a dress. I eventually found one at Dillard's, and now I just need to buy shoes and a purse to match it. We ended up spending a good four hours at the mall, in which I spent too much money. We had also gone shopping on Friday during our "extended" lunch break, though I didn't buy anything. I made up for that on Saturday. :) I spent the remainder of my short evening at home. I considered going over to Lina's for her party and also going up to Devil's Martini with Leigh and some of the guy engineers, but opted not to. Probably a good thing in the end. The DM crowd didn't get back until 4:30 the next morning which is when I actually got up to go to work, and it sounded like everyone crashed at Lina's. So I think I made a wise move by staying home. There are still plenty of opportunties to go out and party.
Working on Sunday sucked. 6am to 6pm. And there was almost no one from my floor here, so sitting at my desk was really quiet and really boring. I think that was the first day since I became friends with Leigh and Cassie that I didn't talk to or see them during my workday. It was very lonely. I called Leigh when I got off though, and we went to Olive Garden for supper. That was a good time. Then I went home and slept until I had to get up early again today for work. Shift 5 sucks. The people are nice, but the hours are just nasty. I'm so used to leaving at 4, and now I have to shift my focus since I don't get to leave until 6. But at least I have half this week off.
Tomorrow is our first indoor soccer game. I'm looking forward to it, because I want to see how our team does. And I get to manage, if I make it on time. I'm thinking that I'll just cut out early so I can carpool up to Phoenix. It'll all work out so that I get my hours.
And right now I'm bored, as I'm waiting for my manager to give me something new to work on. Yay. And I'm counting the hours/minutes until I get off so I can go to Kona and get inexpensive sushi. :) Cheers!
