No light.... too bright... sleeping with the shades pulled tight...
That was what I set my away message to when I got home from the bar/club and after-party at around 6am. And I left to go out at 10pm. I haven't gone out for that long of a period since... hmm.. I think my birthday last year. And that was the first time I've been to a club (I'm not counting Cotton-Eyed Joe's in Tennessee) since last summer. I think in some ways it was better because we had a large group of guys with us, so the girls weren't dancing with strangers, which is always shady. Not that I didn't have a great time with my girls down in Bville! :)
My evening started off tame as Cassie, Josh, and I went to see "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Quite good actually! Very funny. If you need to laugh, go see this movie. Or if you want some action and lots of bullets, go see this movie. It's a good mix. After the movie, we attempted to find out what the plans were for the remainder of the evening. Always complicated when dealing with a large group of people. We finally worked it out, went home to change, then headed out for The Devil's Martini around 10. It was a pretty neat set-up for a club. If anyone has been to Masquerade in Atlanta, you would have recognised the layout. The only differences were that Devil's Martini is not gloomy or grotesque, and it doesn't have Heaven upstairs. Other than that, pretty much the same. We spent the first hour or so just wandering around the place, trying not to spill our drinks. An amazing feat at that! Then we headed out on the dance floor and just had some fun. Again, it was nice to not have to dance with total strangers. Then they kicked us all out around 2am with "Hit the Road, Jack." Fitting. At which point it was time for some more decision-making. To go to the after-party at Steve's or not. We decided to go, got lost, then Cassie didn't stay but dropped Josh (who was passed out by now) and I off. I didn't drink there but watched almost everyone else play Rules, some sort of drinking game. It was pretty funny. I sobered up a lot, got driven back to my car and then went home. And got lost in the process. At least Phoenix is a grid. Makes things easier.
I haven't examined the contents of my wallet to see how much money I have left. I know I bought my first drink, my second drink, and a drink for Leigh, then she picked up the tab for my last one. But this not knowing is nice. :) Yeah, and because I'm a lightweight (and also hadn't eaten all day), three drinks and I was trashed. Actually, I really felt it after my first martini. Oi. But at least I remember the night, some parts are fuzzy, but it's all there. At least, I think it is... Hehe...
All in all, it was a fun night, and I'm going to bed early today or else there's no way I'll make it through work tomorrow. Cheers!
