Hello! I have to admit I'm curious as to where you've been hearing about TFS seeing as I was pretty inactive for the past while, but thank you to whoever that was 'cause I am super glad you've given it a go! It's always reassuring to know I don't sound pretentious, I know I have quite a few readers who first language isn't English either so I realize it might get tough at times. But I figure reading books with a higher level of vocabulary than my own was really how my own vocab expanded...
Ah, the old English major debate is a long and hard travelled road haha. I had to consider my options for a very long time before I decided. I personally truly enjoy what I study but I am aware it doesn't prepare for a particular job position the way studying to be a doctor or fireman or whatever would. So it is kind of gamble as it is with pursuing any sort of art. This story itself touches upon that issue what with how Alex did the band thing, whether it's worth choosing your passion in exchange for uncertainity. I would reccomend that if you do choose English to do get a minor or even a double major in another subject that makes your degree more unique. I, for example double major in both English and French which is quite handy when I live in a billingual country.
If you go with psych you'll get a much more medical background that might be a bit tedious at times but still challenging/interesting. I personally know a few people who have focused on criminology and they have the absolute best course subjects. Anyways, I hope that gives you something to think about, I don't know how pressing this is an issue for you, but if you have any more questions/concerns feel free to message me!
But yes, you've got to be careful when thinking about this 'relationship' of theirs. I always like to remind my readers about the story summary and the use of the word 'enamoured' rather than 'falls in love.' I've given you all the clues, it's just a matter of believing them to be what they seem to be. He does refer to Alex as case #7 at one point...
But thank you! I have to say your comment is one of the more concise ones I've gotten in a while so it was quite refreshing and much appreciated :)
