1. Dozen
He can think of dozens of reasons why he shouldn't program her to hate him but the one reason why he should is the one that makes him do it anyway.
2. Flatter
she doesn't notice how he flatters and dotes upon her more than anyone else in the dollhouse. All Whiskey knows is that out of all the kind strangers, Topher is her only friend.
3. Angle
He loves watching her walk on the outside because the sunlight's always at the right angle to set her skin aglow.
4. Take
She knows something important was taken from him. She just doesn't know what.
5. Need
More than anything, he needs her to remember and that's why his world breaks when she doesn't open the file.

His words annoy her and faltter her in a way that no man has ever done before, scars or no scars, and she can't fight the red that creeps down her neck.

He had hoped that Claire finding out on her own would lessen the pain of Whiskey's existence. One look at her tells him that he had never been more wrong in his life.

Some days, Topher puts his arms around her and draws her against him, wiping his face and complaining weakly that his eyes are too full. On days like those, Whiskey just wraps her arms around him in return and waits until his eyes are dry and empty again.
