Buck and a Half!
So I traveld up to the medieval faire for the first time this year and I'd just like to recap some points;
GOOD
1. I got to see a lot of people I call my "usuals" who I talk to a lot. I don't even know their half of their names, BECCA, the crazy man at the one jewlery shop, my friend Rebecca Jane, Deane (Johnny Pheniox), Sharon (D'Angelo Tortuga's wife), and just random people that are not afraid to have a conversation with me.
2. Johnny Pheniox finally signed the BBQ Barbie he gave me last year, and I got an awesome t shirt from him.
3. PIRATE TENT! (Need I say more.)
4. Stage shows = Johhny Pheniox, Hack and Slash and that other guy we saw who was OK. Facial expressions and jokes that I totally forgot about make me crack up! "Hey fat boy!" *mean look* "BOY!"
5. My favorite memory of the day;
They have those pirate rides that the guys literally have to push and pull and whatnot. Well we were all dressed up as pirates and they guy yelled at us, "Hey PIRATES! Come and ride my pirate ride." I gave it a maybe in my head and then I saw the price and I yelled back, "3 dollars, PISHAW!" He yelled back, "I'll give it to you for two!" then I replied "Buck and a half!" The he replied, "OK, but all four of you have to ride!" So since I did haggle him down to half what we were supposed to pay, we got on the ride. It was seriously fun and he like talked to us for a bit. He told us he gave us the discount because of our costumes. He said something to the fact of "You may have not have known the reason you dressed up today, but now you do." And I got good vibes from the guy. I would like to talk to him. It was fun.
6. A pickle from the pickle lady!
7. I didn't spend too much on things, like 30 bucks, and the things I got were awesome. Ship jewlery box, pirate duck, new pirate sticker for my car, and my tshirt.
8. I caught beads in the parade and didn't have to flash nayone to get them (not that I would do that anyway.)
9. Seeing the cool bug.
BAD
1. NO TORTUGA TWINS!
2. Did I mention that the Tortuga Twins are not there this year!
3. Expensive EVERYTHING!
4. Lots of bad food is not good for me plus it cost a lot of money its not worth and you have to get that paper money! GAH!
5. Did those benches to see the shows seem a lot harder than usual to anyone else?
6. Sitting on the extreem side of the stage so we could see all the tricks was not too fun, but interesting nevertheless.
7. My costume was kind of digging into my side and left a huge red mark which I still have and I did get some kind of bug bite on my face.
8. The guy who makes my pirate bandanas is not there and I need a new one!
