"My Peanut!"

Hi livejournaal world! Not many of you left here, but alas an update for you.

Friday was a very very very crazy day. I had worked Thursday night and now since the theatre is open 11 to 11 everyday, I had to be there at 10:30 Friday morning to open up the building. I was kind of half asleep and then another manager, Melissa, was coming in to do booth. She was complaining about it and so we switched so I could do booth for her and she can be the manager. (Just for the record, I love booth.) I was supposed to work until 6 but since we switched, I got to leave at 5! Aside from me being at work, my mom was planning on taking my dad up to Cleveland because he had to house sit (and dog and cat sit) for some close friends who were going to Seattle for the weekend. So they were going to all eat some dinner together and mom was going to come back home and we were going to hit up my parish festival together around 8:00 or 9:00. So fast foward to around 3:30 and my mom called me on her way home from work. She told me to watch out because storms were coming and to be careful when I'm driving home blah blah blah. When I went out to get food, it was VERY humid so I figured it would rain so I was like "OK." She was then going to go home, grab dad, and try to get out to Cleveland to beat storms ASAP. So I get off the phone with her and I'm walking around and it's almost 4:00. I was going to start threading movies and for some odd reason I checked my phone again and my mom called again. I thought that was weird so I tried calling her back and I could not get a signal. I tried sending her a text message and the same thing happened. So I was down at the end of the booth so I opened the door and saw these low lying, dark, almost black storm clouds, the worse I ever seen. So I start to panic a bit because I don't like storms. They are bad. So I ran downstairs to find Melissa who was trying to find me. By now my mom called into the theatre line and was telling me we had a tornado warning and they had to trun around and come back home and to be careful, stay away from glass, etc. Then the sirens start to go off. So I found Melissa and we put everyone in our inner most theatre #3 and I went around and shut off all the projectors. This was in case of power outages because if they all came off and came back on quickly, it would create a huge power surge. So we wait about 10 to fifteen minutes and people are starting to com in to buy tickets. Melissa and I go outside. It's raining bad but those dark clouds aren't around so we decided to open everything up. Plus we had power. I ran around and threaded and started movies and headed home. I was a bit worried about the drive because I had heard of so much damage and seen these huge clouds. Everything was fine until I hit the west side. My mom said that on TV they said that if a tornado touched down it would either be in the west side/canfield/cornersburgh area. I came down the one way street and there are huge branches covering the road, telephone poles pushed over, trees snapped and uprooted. I saw a telephone pole that was snapped in half with wires on the street and just debris everywhere. It was like unreal. So I made it home safe and then Mom, Dad, and I all went up to Cleveland together and didn't get back into Youngstown until about 1:00AM.

So my dad usually does this once a year and when he does it's kind of like a Jenna/Mom weekend when he is gone and for some odd reason I got today off. My mom suggested we go to the Pittsburgh Zoo. I was like cool. I've never been there and they're supposed to have an AWESOME aquarium. So we head out around 10. We get to Pittsburgh and get really lost. Trying to find our way to the zoo we got stuck in a huge traffic jam. Little did we know and later we found out that it was for a huge Kenny Chesney concert. People were walking on the higway next to cars, drinking, doing jello shots, and being crazy. It took us like an hour to go 1/2 mile. SO we took the next exit to get out of that and got more lost. So we finally find a Barnes and Noble to get map and now it's 2 in the afternoon and the zoo closes at 6. So mom and I, tired and lost, found our way to a mall. I was a bit annoyed because we did all that traveling and I wanted to go to the zoo and we ended up going to a mall which we could have gone to at home. Though I did get a couple of sweet ass pirate books and some pants for work cheap at Lane Bryant. Thanks Ro! So mom and I headed home.

And as my weekend concludes, I work tomorrow! Woo! And Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. BLAH. Plus I got to pick up pops Tuesday from Cleveland and have lunch with Donny Wednesday.

I want to go see Pirates again soon. Anyone up for it?

I leave you with a fun fact about pirates I found out today;

Pirates were not allowed to whistle onboard a ship. I was considered bad luck and thought to bring unwanted winds and spirts.

FAIR WINDS!
