HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT I DID TONIGHT.

I went to the Queers & Allies meeting tonight, because I need more gay in my life. And the topic was religion. There were some great sharing moments. I told the story of going to Sao's cousin's Baptist wedding. It was fun times.
AND THEN, this guy got a phone call and went outside, and when he came back in he was so excited he was shaking, and was like, "Sir Ian McKellen just gave us a shout-out." Because he's in town for the film festival. And we all clapped and squealed and it was fantastic. And then, as the meeting was disbanding and I was about to leave, he comes back in and yells, "GUYS SIR IAN MCKELLEN INVITED US TO THE AFTERPARTY AT FORSYTH MANSION" and I was like,
WHAT.
So we all piled into Shawna's car (there were like ten of us and three were in the trunk, because it is an SUV) and drove to Forsyth mansion. Once there was a police car behind us and that was very exciting. And we got there and all jumped out of the car and there was a big crowd already. And he was in the middle with his glass of white wine and his cigarette, being very dignified and speaking in this low voice to the assembled crowd. He said he'd be happy to tell people that he met a group of very nice queers in Savannah. And he shook my hand. He hugged a few people too. And he told us that it gets better. And then we asked for a group picture, and there was some chaos and shuffling, and we all got in rows and he squeezed in (I was right next to him) and pictures were taken. Then there were more handshakes and hugs.
AND IT WAS AWESOME.
AND THEN HE WENT BACK INTO THE MANSION AND WE WENT TO IHOP.
AND THAT WAS MY NIGHT.
