The Allergening
Today is Day 5 without most of my allergy meds. Why am I off my meds, you ask? Did I even post about this? Well, sit down, children, because it's story time.
I'm "allergic" to sesame. The quotes around "allergic" are there because it doesn't really make sense for me to be allergic to sesame. It's not related to anything else I'm allergic to-- it just showed up on the scratch test. The same thing happened with vanilla when I first got tested, but y'all know vanilla is my favorite, so obviously...
The tests can be wrong. Which is why I'm getting tested again for sesame before I go to college. And that requires being off all antihistamines for 10 days, then getting another scratch test (they poke you with dirty needles, essentially), and then actually having a food challenge. Which is where they feed me greater and greater quantities of the substance in question diluted by something else. At the end of my vanilla challenge, I had to drink a full medicine cup of pure vanilla extract mixed into a can of ginger ale. It was nasty.
So anyway, I'm not allowed to take antihistamines for ten days. I have since come to the conclusion that corticosteroids are MADE OUT OF FUCKING MAGIC. Seriously. It's a beautiful thing.
In other news:
1. I have more eczema! Behind my knees, where I've thought I had heat rash for, you know, my entire life. Doctors, man. Doctors.
2. iTunes up and decided to finally work right on Motsu and connect to the iTunes store! So, of course, the first thing I did was check my balance and download the music video for "Alejandro". I mean, come on, it's basically porn. With, like, a nun. And a machine-gun bra.
3. I wrote a story a couple days ago. I'm hoping to post it on my website soon. Maybe today, if I get around to it. I'll post a link when I do, because I really like this one. It's about a writer. I got to hear Nicole read it out loud to Sao because Sao needed entertainment while doing the dishes.

4. And now I'm going to watch Gurren Lagann, because I'm finally re-watching the rest of the series. I've seen it up to RIGHT BEFORE the Teppelin like three times, but I've only seen the last half once. AND THE LAST HALF IS THE MOST EPIC EVER. So yeah. Gonna go do that now.
