"What's up with that car? It looks vaguely confused."

Since Katherine has expressed great displeasure at having to see "copulating stick figures" every time she opens her friendslist...
Have some Vincennes weekend!

This weekend (or is it last weekend by now?) Sao and I drove down to Vincennes again to visit Miraki. Miraculously, we managed to get there early, as opposed to abysmally late like the last few times. On the way there, Sao identified roadkill. Also, at one point, she said something LiCl-related that got me in such a daze of delight that I had to smack myself really hard to get my focus back on the road. Just sayin'.

When we got to Vincennes, Miraki was eating at Arby's, which was funny because she got back kind of late. It was a bit of a switch. Sao and I sat in the car listening to Billy Talent for a while.

First up was the drag show, which was awesome. Sao and I had little seats reserved for us (with no last names, which made me obscurely happy. We're just "Sao and Livali," the funny people who come to town occasionally.) Tylor was so delighted with what a cute boy I made that he picked me up when he hugged me.

(spellcheck of the now: Tylor = Tylenol)

The drag show was great. There was this one drag queen who didn't have a wig, and it was a strange combination of disorienting and really sexy. Maybe because I noticed halfway through that s/he pretty much had Chlorine's exact body type, so Sao and I squeed about that for a while. There was one really amazing drag queen with hat and these knee-high leather boots, and just. Guh. It was fantastic. She did this stomping thing. Someone thought she had a party-popper under her boot.

Mr. USA was there too. The drag king, that is. He was great. None of us could tell he wasn't a boy before he got up on stage and started dancing, at which point the fact that he was onstage sort of gave it away.

There was Denny's after that, as it's sort of become a tradition. It was me, Sao, Miraki, and Jobie at...was it 10 at night? Something like that? Sao wanted to get her lip pierced again, and I was fairly resistant at first. Looking back, I'm not quite sure why. Probably because there is less of the kissing when her mouth is that sore. Anyway, it was sort of a quarrel with me pouting and Miraki laughing a lot. I ended up giving in, and I'm glad I did. Is nice. <3

Saturday, more Denny's, then hanging out all day until it was time for Gay Prom. I got all dressed up in my suit-jacket, grey button-up and tie. It didn't even matter that I was wearing regular pants; I think I looked fucking slick. Jobie felt underdressed and I let him borrow my other button-up, which I am still amused/delighted about. Miraki had the blue dress she wore for graduation, and Sao had this teeny shiny red thing and a lot of eye make-up and boots and it was lovely. Mm.

Thus we set out. It was a fairly straightforward drive, except for the part where it started raining. And not just raining. I mean pouring. Buckets upon buckets upon buckets upon fucking ocean-like waves coming up from the middle of the road. It was incredible. We were going 60 or 70 down the highway, and the windshield looked like that fancy glass at restaurants that's all swirled up and you can't actually see through it. I know there's a name for it. Pardon my brain.

We made it to Evansville intact (and I pulled a sweet U-turn on the way to the Marriott. Jobie approved. Miraki, not so much.), ended up briefly in a room full of somewhat drunk gay people, and then eventually managed to get to Gay Prom. The room was very dark, and the hotel was very fancy. Sao and I delighted for a bit about how the lobby smelled like chlorine. I like that smell a lot more since we started chemistry....mmhmm....

There was a sort of buffet set-up with really fancy pizza and deep-fried green beans and nachos and cheese. I consumed like, half my weight in nachos and Mountain Dew.

The DJ was kind of...bad. The equipment was awful, because apparently it was only taken out once a year and was brought there in the rain. It was still fun though, and listening to Jobie complain about the DJ made it even funnier. Eventually he went over to help the poor guy out and got it sounding decent. The static later in the night made my head hurt though.

Hilights of Gay Prom:
Fucking nachos
Sao in her little dress
Me, in a suit, on a leash
Dancing to ridiculous music, including Closer! SO happy when that came on.
Rei-chan calling and saying that her parents got tickets to Nine Inch Nails in Indy on graduation day and I GET TO FUCKING GO seg;oadg;lqaef
Jobie getting hit on by guys
Drew winning prom queen
Dirty-dancing with Sao to Living Dead Girl and being nearly the only people on the dance floor because everyone else wanted pop and rap as opposed to Rob Zombie
Alex, who has a mohawk now
Evan, who is Very Tall
IHOP afterwards, with the very nice and awesome waitress, and delicious Nutella crepes which I couldn't finish because my throat started tingling. Not so cool: being maybe almost-allergic to hazelnuts. D:

The drive home was interesting. I started out driving, but I was getting really loopy and weird, and it was making Miraki nervous. So we decided that when we stopped at the next gas station for the planned bathroom run, we'd switch out drivers. We ended up stopping at a McDonald's as opposed to a gas station, but it turned out not to be open, even though it was apparently open 24 hours, and there were people milling about inside. I guess 2:35 AM isn't part of an hour anymore.

Anyway, we got back in the car (forgot to switch), and drove on to the next gas station that looked open. It was. Miraki and Sao went in, and I went in after because I figured I should follow. After all, they're two pretty girls in short dresses at 2 in the morning in a strange location in Indiana, and I looked like a boy. Also, I had to use the bathroom.
Mostly, it was me standing there sort of hunched over, trying to be manly, and the girls buying candy.

The way home was mostly me alternately dozing off and rocking out to Placebo in the passenger seat, until we got to the Endless Train Of Doom right before the dorm. It must've lasted 15 minutes at least, and I'm only mentioning it here because it was epic.

Sunday was nothing much, mostly another trip to Denny's and hanging out on the floor of the dorm room. I fucking love trips to Vincennes, guys. They're so epic awesome.

the gay, vincennes, raburabu, entries with way too many tags, denny's, friends, adventures, awesomeness which knows no bounds
