SNES

Driving home from Sao's tonight was oddly pleasant, simply because it's a Sunday night and all of the out-of-town college students are gone for Spring Break. There were like, three other cars in Bloomington. It was great. No traffic, obviously.

Friday night was a sort of Gurren Lagann watching party at Sao's. Any excuse to spread the joy. I ended up picking up Megan on the way, which was quite an adventure because I got just a bit...lost. It took about five minutes of us flailing back and forth over the phone for her to ascertain the direction I was driving in. It was kind of awesome.
Altogether, we had me, Sao, Rei-chan, Megan, Miraki, Miraki's gentleman friend Jobie, and Jobie's friend whose name I forget. After significant amounts of running off to Wal-Mart for cooking ingredients (and me being a total spaz in general, ugh), we all settled down in the basement and watched the magic. It was massive epic good times.

The night concluded, I think, with a bunch of random SNES playing and Sao working on writing Lithium Iodide, which I read delightedly the next morning. I was pretty tired at this point, so I don't really remember much beyond curling up in the big comfy chair and falling asleep at about 4 or 5 in the morning.

I hardly remember Saturday. I think I woke up at some point...oh yeah! I woke up and drove Megan home so that she could get to work. I got back, and I think that there were some scrambled eggs involved somewhere, then there was yet another Wal-Mart run, this time for ingredients required to make chocolate and ricotta and strawberry crepes. Massive deliciousness.
I'm pretty sure we spent most of the rest of the day in the basement playing Dr. Mario. At some point I left to go shopping with Mom, who was back from L.A. for the weekend. (Have I even covered this whole L.A. situation? If I haven't, there's no time now anyway. I'm fucking tired.)
There was a lot more random back and forth and cuddling with Sao. I stuffed myself with tempura and Mom bought me a hat and I failed really hard at Dr. Mario.

Today, I woke up fairly early (8:10? Maybe?) because we were going out to breakfast. Was very pleasant. I had like...four cups of tea as well.
Got back home and hung out for a while. Mom went back to L.A. and I watched the full Blu-ray making-of documentary on Ratatouille. And then the movie. And I worked on my socks.

Eventually, Sao woke up and called me, and I headed over to bring her DVDs and smutty sci-fi novels about genetically enhanced warrior/sex-slaves. Awwwright.
We watched Yellow Submarine, which was a delightful acid trip set to music, and then the director's cut of The Chronicles of Riddick. During most of the latter, I was rereading LiCl part 13. Love! <3

I've discovered that my happy place is sitting in Sao's basement and playing old video games. Is that weird? It's just...I'm so completely content and happy cuddling in the big chair and watching people play Dr. Mario, or laughing with everyone as I fail miserably at whatever it is they've set in front of me. Before I left tonight, Sao and I had a versus round of Dr. Mario and Tetris, and it was the most content that I've been in a long time.

Of course, I could just be crazy, head-over-heels, sick-puppy in love. :3
