Intensity
i finally got the chance to post something. thanks to our IT my life as a “working” fangirl has been totally miserable as i can’t login to any of my blogs, can’t dl songs, can’t dl clips from MF, can’t see mag scans, etc!!! i’m running short f my “happy pills now & i sure feel left out from arashi updates lately. i didn’t even know sho has a movie!!! and it doesn’t help that the boys are very busy nowadays, with news about them here & there. but on the other hand, at least it would make me miss the boys instead of getting tired of them (i read some complaining about arashi’s over exposure lately)…hehe!
but arashi’s not who i’m gonna blog right now…it’s gonna be about last saturday’s concert of Rain (korean artist; aka Raizo of Ninja Assassin, Taejo of Speed Racer). just a brief background, before i was into arashi i was totally into Rain (or “Bi” in korean). it was this guy that introduced me to what “fandom” is. it was because of this guy that i found new friends (some of whom later became arashi fans as well). it was because of this guy that i learned to dl clips/songs. and it was also because of this guy that i’m having trouble getting used to guys w/ hairy armpits XD
i may not be as crazy about him now as i used to but learning that he will be having a performance here really made me excited. it was like a dream come true to see him perform in the flesh coz we thought it was nearly impossible for him to do a show in our country. what made the event even more exciting for me was that U-Kiss (korean idol group) was going to perform too. i liked these kids after their first visit here. i’ve heard a lot about how nice they were to the fans & the 2nd time they were here i found them really…well…likeable…haha! i guess it helped that a lot of their members know how to speak in english & that they were very game & funny. plus their songs are very catchy & danceable too!

it was a good thing that it’s not jampacked in our place. at least my sisters had the chance to dance along to some of their songs XD. i guess there were lots of U-Kiss fans there although they were not the main act. everytime U-Kiss was mentioned in the video ad they would scream. i’m sure the guys got a lot more pinoy KissMes after that. i guess they were very much entertained by the boys’ antics & talent.
alexander was very much talkative like his usual self that night (he & his halo-halo); kevin was well…being xander’s “partner” as usual (if arashi has ohmiya, ukiss has alvin XD); kiseop wasn’t speaking a lot but was also very game even if the boys were practically “harassing” him to show his abs; kibum looked like his bro (ss501′s hyung joon) a lot! (i guess he was trying to gain more twitter followers by announcing that he’ll also be tweeting in english too XD); soohyun really has a great voice! and i think he’s the most “showbiz” among the guys XD; dongho is sooooo cute & adorable!!! makes me wanna take him home (on a wholesome note). i was amazed when he said a full sentence in english. i thought he just knows a few words; and lastly my Eli…looking great as ever!!! tone your arms a bit more & you’ll be perfect..hehe! i hear girls screaming his name everytime the camera does a closeup of him. i wanna take him home too…in a not-so-wholesome note XD
then came the main event. the video background was nice. it built up the anticipation & the excitement as we waited for Rain’s appearance on stage. we were guessing how he would appear..will he pop out of the stage like he often did? will he come from above or slowly rise from below? or will he come from the back of the stage? the answer?

after singing It’s Raining he switched to Touch Yah. i had a hard time watching this perf coz i was trying to video the perf & i had to struggle to get a clear view coz someone’s hand kept blocking mine. and it didn’t help that i wasn’t tall enough so i had to stretch out my hands more thus making my hands shaky & my videos blurred.
after these Rain stood still & slowly took off his shades to the delight of screaming fangirls…hello single eyelids XD
unfortunately he didn’t speak in english during his spiel (w/c had surprised us) so we had no idea that he was already introducing the next song. he took off his white jacket for his next number…How To Avoid the Sun. i’d say this number was sexy but i kinda miss the roller thing he usually uses for bigger concerts
next number was I Do. i think this was the first of his song that i’ve sort of memorized. and he was acting cute & sexy while doing this number. but i almost forgot that the thing to look out for during this performance is his solo dance during the instrumental part

next up..Love Song. when Rain disappeared on stage to change costume the video from his Love Song was played. he looked really nice & sweet in that clip that you wouldn’t imagine that the number could be as sexy as hell XD. i knew what was coming so that’s probably why my hands were again shaky filming this dance XD honestly, when i first saw the pv i was cringing & i wanted to cover my eyes while watching it. but seeing it being performed live was a different thing. and since my fancam wasn’t too good here’s a better one:

he appeared in that glittery outfit that i really liked. you can really see him even from afar in that outfit. and when he took that off to reveal that black wifebeater he was wearing underneath, he was practically glistening because of his tanned complexion & dripping sweat! i bet a lot were screaming Hallelujiah!XD too bad he didn’t do what everyone was waiting for…take off his shirt during his dance. well, the guy is such a tease. just offering a sneak peek of his abs while some of us were shouting “chebal, chebal!” for him to take it off XD. this is as far as we can get in seeing that famous abs
after that hot number Rain tried to slow things down & let the fans’ racing heartbeats & rising blood pressure to calm a bit by singing Love Story. i guess that was the time he can really show off his vocal skills. and this was also the time that i realized how stupid i was for not making use of the giant screens on our side to video him & get a good closeup shot! >.< i guess it was because it was better to film him “live in action” than staring at him on the screen. the latter felt no different for me than seeing him on tv. it didn’t feel “live” to me.
then came one of my fave numbers - Rainism. i’ve seen kim hyun joong (ss501) dance to this in an event & honestly i liked his performance so much that i associated him more to this song than Rain. i’ve only seen Rain dance this in the pv but seeing him dance to this live was a completely different thing. watching him in this perf sorta brought me back to my Rain era of fandom. it brought back that excitement whenever i see some bad-ass performance of his & this number was a sexy yet bad-ass performance for me. i really loved the chorus part!!! oh, and by the way, i managed to make use of the large screen this time XD

another of my fave songs was up & then it happened…my camera’s battery died. i guess i had too much fun filming i didn’t realize my camera was on since the show started (i didn’t want to miss something important just in case, you know :p). my sisters & i had fun shouting “hip song, hip song, hip song” during this number. and since i wasn’t focused on filming anymore i could totally enjoy watching Rain here. i was kinda worried whether Rain would enjoy performing coz from where we were the crowd there didn’t seem to know his songs. there were only a few of us (or was t just my sisters & i? LOL) who were shouting the chants for his songs. but i guess, judging from this fancam, he seemed to be enjoying his performance. and i can definitely hear the shouts in the background. i think this number was another solid, electrifying number

and for the finale…my all time favorite…Instead of Saying Goodbye. i’ve always enjoyed watching his perf of this song especially the older ones. it’s nice to see him smiling widely while dancing to this song. since we weren’t near the stage i can hardly see Rain’s expressions unless the camera zooms in on him but i can see that he’s smiling in this fancam and i’m glad. i guess it made him smile to hear the crowd singing parts of the song w/ him. again, my sisters had a blast shouting some of the parts for this song & the people infront of us looked back at us, either thinking we’re weird or we’re amazing to actually know the lyrics. it would have been a lot more fun if everyone knew & sang the song/chants for each number. oh, again, watch out for Rain’s dance during the instrumental. naughty kid teasing the crowd again, posing as if he’s gonna lift his shirt again

i guess the people at the front totally had a blast coz i bet most of them are hardcore fans & everbody seems to be singing. somewhere in the distant land we looked like aliens surrounded by clueless humans. i can’t blame them though. some probably just went there for the experience or knows Rain only as Justin/Young Jae of Full House.
all in all i enjoyed the show. it was short but for the price i paid it was worth it (if i spent more it might have been a different story though :p). i was concerned if Rain was going to perform w/ the same enthusiasm & intensity as he does in the shows/cons that i’ve seen. he might have had some bad publicity here , there wasn’t lots of effects (except for the opening & the cool background visuals), he didn’t speak a single english/filipino word during his spiels (though he did shout out english words while performing to pump up the crowd), he only sang 9 songs but i can say his performance wasn’t half-assed at all. the guy is a real performer and that’s why despite being disappointed most of the time about his behavior i still like him as an artist. don’t expect lots of fan service from this guy but what he lacks there he definitely makes up in showmanship. and for me, i totally felt Rain’s “intensity” as a performer that night.
