It hasn't cured me, no. It's made a difference temporarily but it's obviously not something you'd want to have done routinely! The bag was stupid because it was basically a plain sack made of quite thin, soft leather. The handles were weak. Ach, it was just a stupid bag. So now I have one that can contain lots of stuff and is pretty much indestructible, and weighs about ten kilos.

In other news, a VERY attractive web cafe has just opened RIGHT across the road from the university's west gate. This will help with the weekend "web insect" load. It does lots of drinks and they lead you to your seat. It also has a fishtank wall in the staircase. It's that sort of web bar! And today it's free all day 'cos they just opened. In fact they were already open, I know this 'cos I've been here while they were still bashing down structural-looking walls in the lobby with sledgehammers. A bit of rubble narrowly missed me.

I got 推拿 bonesetting massage a couple of months ago, and I really must do it more regularly. It hurt like a mofo, but I felt way better afterwards - probably because of the endorphin rush, I guess. Still -- I spend all day sitting at a computer, and it's giving me nasty back pains, so anything that does the job is A-OK with me. Plus the woman I went to see really seemed to know what she was doing. I've never been a big believer in Chinese medicine, but she really impressed me: at one point she was massaging my earlobes (which is apparently a big acupuncture point) and just said out of nowhere, "so I bet you got a lot of ear infections when you were a kid, huh? And then you had some kind of high fever when you were five or six?" And yes -- I did, indeed, have very bad ear infections when I was little, and then had scarlet fever when I was 5.

I'm not about to become a homeopath, but I was plenty impressed.

That's 的确 impressive. Hmm. My problem is I don't know how to find such a person. Did you find her through hearsay?
