Never having been to the mainland, that's how I've pictured it, with jiefangjuners marching around singing 太阳最红,毛主席亲. Except with more bicycles.
Where I taught, every day the students would march outside at 10 or so to practice their propaganda marching exercises. I always thought it was pretty surreal.

Go raibh mile (can't do fadas) mile maith agat, a dearthair! A Dhia, nil aon Gaeilge agam anois. Don't worry, I haven't been learning any Polish - I'm waiting for you to darn teach me! I've got my language plate full (and am happily spitting out the bones on the table). Now I'm gonna get off As A Rock's computer 'cos I feel bad always using it and being too lazy to bring my laptop to uni. Withstand the gaa-heads and scumbags, laddie. Arr.
