Major artwork update. With a birthday fast approaching we are at critical scanner mass. I've reached a personal goal in drawing our favorite Hero of Time. (No Kyle, not the crap shoot I showed you at school. This one is WAY better.) After careful examination of my technique at portraying links eyes, I discovered a severe flaw. I was giving Link...for a lack of better word......eh....Goku eyes. While they weren't as simplistic as Goku's eyes, they are obviously from the same family. Maybe cousins?
Anyway, I looked at some of the official artwork from Soul Caliber, and got what I needed from it.(i.e. the eye reference)
"Why are the stupid eyes important?" Why, young grasshopper, the eyes make the man....or at least, his emotions, which are the key stone to any bridge between realism, and your scratches on paper. I decided that the Link I will draw will be a brooding, self-sacarficing.....angry fellow. That way, his awesomeness is multiplied tenfold. And everyone knows, angry boy in tunic equals "Hey punk, I don't like your face! ::Link punches some guy in the face::" Of course, I won't go THAT far, or else he'll be out of his already stretched character.
And I changed my icon for a brief time to celebrate.
