I'm a Flipping Genius.... GOSH!

Over the past couple of days, I have encountered some problems in my 6 month anniversary present plans which left me quite perturbed (as in NOT impressed). My original plan was to go to the shelter, and surprise him with a kitten.

I mean, seriously; it was going to have a little kitty bow tie and everything! But then my parents were all persuasive and made me realize I couldn't really handle having one right now. Apparently the fact that no one is going to be actually living in the apartment for a week after the move in would be uncomfortable for el kitty. Understandable enough, but I was still really disappointed. I guess at this point the kitten will either have to wait until a later surprise date, or I'll wait for Nick to pick it out with me. (Ick).

However, I got over it, and decided to surprise him with this curved shower curtain rod that he really wants (for his gorilla arms that don't seem to have nearly enough room with a normal curtain rod set up... ermm k?). So when he called me up today, and I proudly said I had the perfect gift for him. Of course Nick, being the ever intelligent soul that he is, immediately says "Oh! Is it that shower curtain rod that I wanted?????!" Needless to say, I was peeved. I basically told him to forget it and never guess at his present if he actually wants to get it.

Back to the drawing board... and then I had it! Brilliance! I decided to make him a CD of some of our "Special" songs. You know, like the one's that signify special times and the rest. Then an even bigger stroke of genius: I decided to throw in some sound bytes from Napoleon Dynamite, Anchorman, Billy Madison, and Austin Powers (becuase he quotes these movies daily), and make them relate to each of the songs playing!!! I am so very proud of myself right now! Here's an example: For Eye of The Tiger (we sing the Starbucks version a lot) I have Napoleon Dynamite talking to his brother about cage fighting and Ron Burgundy talking about his muscles in front of Veronica Corningstone. Then, when the song is finished, I have this song byte come on that's all like: "Boy... that escalated quickly!" So much fun!

I also decided to give him the curtain rod anyway... just make him think he isn't getting anything but my wonderful amazing CD and then KAPOWEE! I'll give him his, ermmm, curtain rod as well.

Moving in to the apartment in exactly 5 days!! AYE CARUMBA!!! :D
