[ 001 ]: all you need are your kicks when you need them
Arthur had started working in dreamsharing with his friends the Cobbs but ever since they started a family together he had started taking more "solo jobs" where he basically had to work with a different extractor and architect nearly every time.
In some ways he was glad for the experience and being able to meet other people in the business, getting to see their level of ability and reliability. Another part of him, however, continued to feel somewhat alienated if "out of place" (even while about to start another "solo job").
He had only been a point man for a small handful of years by this time but had still been able to make a bit of a name for himself where he was in a reasonable [if not flattering] amount of demand. So, still feeling like he "didn't belong" on a team was quite absurd.
Yet, as he entered the bar lounge of the hotel he was staying at, it wasn't a feeling he could easily shake. In truth, he knew it was because he was just so used to working with Dom and Mal. They were his friends as well as "co-workers". That wasn't exactly something he could say about any of the other people he had worked with outside of the functioning trio they normally made together.
