Looking back to 2007

Jan 01, 2008 16:02

I'm gonna take my time and review my year in livejournal. I'm starting this on 30th Dec at 17:39, and I'm gonna take as much time as I need to post a nice long post with lots of details and feelings in. Or so that's the plan!

I don't think I remember things in order for this year. I do know quite a lot of big things happened. My sister came back from Canada, and she saw me for the first time in my Ikea uniform.

Andy and Lisa's wedding was a biggie for this year. I spent the bulk of the early part of the year thinking about pink things - flowers, decorations, place cards... then it sorta took over my life which was a bit crazy. Mum made me a light blue dress, which was the start of the dress buying thing. It was also the first wedding of 5 this year for our church, so now i have lots of pretty dresses that will potentially all go to waste cos there's not gonna be a wedding for a while... wait... I'll go back to this point.

2007 was also the year of the first Spring Harvest. I spent a lot of time with some very nice people in very close proximity. I enjoyed being in the company of people that I don't know in person, but we all intimately know God and it's top! Learnt a lot of new songs as well!

Ooooh, I went to see Switchfoot as well in March with Chris, Clem, Martin, Zeke, Damon, and Yuey. Oh my goodness they were awesome.

I spent an awful lot of this year wondering about jobs and stuff. Staying on sales or going to logistics? I finally moved in september and it's been the best thing that's happened to me for a long time! I suppose except for the fact that it's been a long hard slog! But I get looked after, and I'm learning new things! :D I love my new little family that is Mark, Craig, Christine and Babs. I think I've found my little niche where I can be used in a suitable way where I can't be replaced.

I've pretty much embraced photography as my new hobby. I love my cameras and the new lenses that I have! I did a photography course and managed to build a really cool portfolio from it! I found some people who share the same passion for photography as I do, and I'm really quite excited about the potential that this new found skill may have!

Me, Dad, Chris and Clem also made a venture to HK for a holiday which was quite fun. Reaquainted myself with this crazy city and why I'm not really that keen on it. It was nice to see the little members of my family a little taller, and a little cheekier.

Sad things this year have to include the loss of my beautiful little micra. I still don't know what's happened to it really. I've had a lot of collective very sad moments at work, where I haven't really been able to meet eye to eye with the people who are managing me/supervising me and has caused lots of undue tension. But then having moved to a department that genuinely loves me for who I am, I have had issues with myself on how to be a person that can influence without pressing, and press without nagging. I lost all my confidence at one point. :( Dearie me.

Friends have moved around this year quite a lot. Tracey's in HK, Yuey's in Durham. Valerie and Alvina came to visit seperately and then went home. Zeke went back to Canadia too. One of the long standing members of church, Yew Wing, has gone back to Malaysia permanently. Quite a few of my ikea friends have gone. My PMs have moved from country to country, and my Lee is back in the same city as me now, which makes me feel very safe. :)

My family has had big changes. After 19 years of calling my dad a postman, he's no longer with the Post Office and he's working as a handyman with Age concern! Mum works at a chippy now and both Clem and Chris are at uni. I seem to hardly have a family cos noone's in when I'm in! :(

It's 16:02 on 1st January 2008 and 2007 has been a long year! I've done a lot and I'm quite tired from it. I am very ready to start afresh, and happy, and I look forward to a fun packed, happy new year! :D

family, jobs, happy new year, review, everything, year, friends, events
