And there it was. The final film in the Harry Potter saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I went to the midnight screening last night dressed up in my Ravenclaw uniform, with pumpkin pasties and butterbeer in tow. I saw it in 2D, but I think I want to see it again in 3D.

Oh yeah, Luna. I wasn't concerned with her suddenly being in school again because I just love her and was happy she was there. :)

I think the main disappointment of the sixth movie was the omission of the battle between the Death Eaters and the DA. So, yes, the fact that Neville doesn't get to say that line to Voldemort in the eighth film was a letdown.

I totally forgot about young Dumbledore in the movies! It was a pretty major theme in the book, but it wasn't even mentioned much in the films. So, you're right, the scene when Aberforth talks about the sacrifices his brother made in his quest for power, you're left thinking...what sacrifices? Readers of the books will obviously know he's referring to the death of Ariana, but it's not clear in the movie.

I really liked that about book 7. That Harry seriously begins to doubt Dumbledore, and his faith falters a bit in the midst of Dumbledore's past coming to light. All throughout the series he's led to believe Dumbledore was a perfect man, but when he learns that he wasn't, it really tests Harry. But the films don't go as in depth into the characters, so I can sort of understand why they left out the whole Dumbledore backstory. It's a shame. We got to see Snape's backstory, so it would've been nice to learn more about Dumbledore as well.

I like all the HP films too, in spite of how I might nitpick them at times. ;) The cast, sets, costumes, etc. really brought Jo's magical story to life, and for that I'm really grateful.
