One thing that's great about living in southern California is that there are various Ho'olaule'a festivals throughout the year. They're outdoor festivals celebrating Hawaiian, Polynesian and Pacific Islander culture. Various booths selling merchandise and food from the islands, as well as live music and dance performances, comprise Ho'olaule'a. I like attending these events so I can eat yummy food like kālua pork, Portuguese sausage, Spam musubi and shave ice. But I also go in hopes of finding some cute items to buy. When I went to Ho'olaule'a yesterday I bought these adorable Kimmidolls. They're collectible resin figurines inspired by Japanese kokeshi.

If you click on the Kimmidolls link above, you can see the numerous characters the collection has. There were so many yesterday, I wanted them all! But that would probably break the bank. So I'll make due with my two dolls for now. Perhaps in the future I'll treat myself to more. ;)
