I requested the book Amigurumi Two!: Crocheted Toys for Me and You and Baby Too by Ana Paula Rimoli a couple of weeks ago from my library. I like it even better than her first book. I'm going to purchase my own copy...as soon as my renewals run out at the library. ;) What I love about this book is that all the toys are for babies and small children, which means they're extra cute.
The first things I made from the book are these baby birds. My boss is giving birth to twins - a boy and a girl - in a few weeks time. I thought these little birds would be a nice gift to her to welcome her new babies. The brother & sister birds are connected with a vine of leaves and flowers. The photo doesn't show it, but there actually are leaves behind the flower. I guess they curled up and hid behind the petals (because I crochet so tightly!).
