I'm late in posting this as I actually made these last weekend. I wanted to make fun food for my nieces while I babysat them, so I took my Hello Kitty waffle iron out of storage and decided to use it to make cute waffles! My eldest niece (she's three years old) was so excited as she dipped the Hello Kitty and Mimmy faces into her syrup.
I used a lot of nonstick spray to make sure the waffles popped out neatly. They came out pretty good, considering I'm not very adept at using machines such as this. I poured just the right amount of [boxed] pancake batter to ensure it didn't spill over and result in fat kitty heads. With the rest of the batter I just made regular pancakes for myself in the frying pan.
I've really been into pancakes lately ever since watching an episode of Food Network Challenge, in which food stylists had to create a photo-worthy breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and orange juice. I ♥ breakfast foods so much, I could eat 'em any time of day.
