Little Yuzu is Reading
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks
E. Lockhart

Happy first day of June! I ♥ these long days...you know summer is definitely on its way. :) So I saw these cute Ogilvy Dolls that chezmichelle posted on weloveamigurumi last week, and I wanted to try them out. I crocheted them with 100% wool worsted weight yarn, and they stand 3" tall.

That's Molly on the left and Susie on the right. They're best friends. Molly is quite a chatter. She can talk constantly and not even realize when no one's listening. But she's a loyal friend and will stick up for those who need defending. Susie's more quiet and reserved, and she's also very dependable - if you forgot your pencil or need a needle & thread to sew a button, she's sure to have it in her messenger bag. She's kind of like a Girl Scout, always prepared. Here's a direct link to the pattern so you can make your own dolls!

I started reading The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks a few days ago, and it's a really good book so far. I like YA fiction, it's one of my favorite genres. Frankie's an interesting heroine - smart, funny, pretty, geeky, popular, feminist, girly. She's like a bunch of heroines rolled into one. I recommend it for girls who like feminist plots that aren't overly feminist. Amidst her schemes to get into an all-boys club, Frankie still takes the time to be girly and paint her nails like the rest of us. :)
