Photos of L.A.

I mentioned in my last entry that my family and I took my aunt around town last week while she was visiting us from the Midwest. I thought I'd post a few pictures that I took while we were out and about. The first one shown below is Griffith Observatory, made famous by the James Dean film A Rebel Without a Cause. It was closed for four years to do major rennovations and reopened this year. There are new exhibits on the solar system, galaxies and more - there's even a new Leonard Nimoy theater! Hee hee.

A view of the Hollywood hills from Griffith Park.
The Pacific Ocean is way back there somewhere.

The Hollywood sign is so much smaller than you'd think.

The actual helicopter, Marine One, used by U.S. Presidents John
F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon and Gerald R. Ford.

The last photo was taken at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California. It's my fourth time visiting that place - it's so cool, has a lot of great U.S. history and is not far from home. I want to visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum soon - Air Force One is there! I was horrible at U.S. history in school, but it's always nice learning about it on my own.
