Thank you so much for writing about this! I always liked Nan. I haven't read Jo's Boys yet, as I could never find the book. I only discovered the book was online within the past week. So I'm very glad that Nan got to be as fantastic a woman as she promised to be as a child.

Find the sequels is always hard. Glad you find an online version, which one was it? I'm rather partial to Project Gutemberg one.

Nan is a wonderful character and reading about her in JB was such a treat.

I love Nan. I only know her through the 2nd anime but there she is wonderful! My favorite episode with her was always the one with the jewel case (???) which she got from Jo.

A wonderful essay about her! :D

I think the word is keepsake box. That episode was real neat.

Thank you.

Nan is a fantastic character, my favorite after Jo ( ... )

You can see the loving hand over Nan. She is a well rounded character and full of contrasts.

Nonetheless, Little Men seems less childish in message to me than Little Women. I found it more dogmatic, a little more preaching -and that is saying something. Not really the kind of lecture for little impressionable minds who found suitable to burn houses.

About snappy dialogue, there is not account for taste, because is that that keep me away from Jo/Laurie and Tommy/Nan pairings. yes, I know, I'm a weird child.

Great job again with the picspam! I have very little idea of who these characters are b/c I never really bothered reading Little Men or Jo's Boys...but it looks like I'll at least have to read through the online versions...Nan sounds like an awesome heroine! Someone LMA really wanted to create in Jo before the fans and her publisher pressured her to take a different course...very intriguing!

Thank you.

Nan is awesome in my opinion. *push her* Go and read the sequel, although it's not as nice as LW, but Jo's Boys worth the short Little Men, just to see Nan interact with Tommy!
